More Cursed Chests

  • We only have Grog and Sorrow... Rumors of a Kraken chest that summons the Kraken?

Give us more. A few ideas.

Skeleton Chest that spawns skeletons on your boat.
Poison Chest that acts basically like snakes. Will randomly start shooting poison everywhere for a minute or so.
Rage Chest that grows angrier and angrier until it explodes like a gunpowder barrel, damaging your boat. You have to play it music to calm it down before it blows up.

I even thought of a chest that literally tries to run away from you and is constantly trying to jump off the boat like it's alive, so you have to just hold it.

    Any other ideas?

loaded chest more than average loot but super heavy so slow to carry.

Souls chest whispers at you, glows, and makes a ghost pirate appear that you can interact with funny dialog have it give you both coin and soul xp.

chicken chest has two wings that protrude from the side it flaps and crows and can spin around or move slightly and has to be put in the bottom deck or it might accidently flap off the ship. And if you jump from some place high up it will act as a glider. have it give both merchant and coin xp.

drunken sickness chest have a chest with a mouth at the front that hickups. And it pukes non stop. So if you run infront of it it will puke on you and blind you and also when you carry it.

Pirate Lullaby chestsings softly if you stand next to it or carry it more than like 15 seconds it will put you to sleep for a short period of time.

Thats just a few ideas off the top of my mind.

  • @spilt-puddin

Great ideas. Especially the puke and lullaby chests.

  • How a about one that makes your ship glow.

  • @ianckoen
That would be dope. Maby like a ***ferry of the damned chest.***That lights you up like a christmas tree/ ghost ship like a beacon alerting all the other pirates that might see you that you have booty!

  • Blind chest. You go blind while holding.

Sticky hands chests slow to drop or can’t put down until turned in.

    Upside down vision.

    Walk backwards.

    Ships controls are reversed

    Cannons won’t fire

    Slowly kills you

Is a giant beacon of light and points out your position

Makes a loud noise preventing communication and alerting nearby pirates

Haunted boat - Randomly changes your sails or drops your anchor or fights your wheel turn

Bounces around your boat when not held might go overboard

Absorbs your resources or other nearby treasure gettin stronger and more valuable because an object to steal maybe turns brighter gold or glowing when more valuable

The longer it sits on your boat the less valuable it is

The longer it’s on your boat it keeps splitting into less valuable chests/ one chest worth 5k splits and becomes 2-2500 and so on making it harder to turn in

  • @sc-marx randomly explodes chest doesn’t go away. But might kill you. Like hot potato. Could be interesting to see someone steal that!

  • Agreed!’ And they wonder why people complain about lack of content.

  • there's a lot of amazing ideas here for some chests.

  • A chest called Davey Jone's Locker

The most valuable chest in the game, and super rare. Whoever finds it gets a blessing and a curse.

The curse: Your ship will travel slower than normal, even with full billowing sails, and a marker remains over you (like a skull fort marker) for all players to see. They can come at you to sink you for a ridiculous amount of gold and reputation.

The blessing: The Kraken will attack any ship that breaches a safety perimiter around your ship. Each time they drive off an attacking tentacle, they can sail a bit closer to you.

I F::king love this post idea. #RARE Perk dem ears up. This post is a money maker.
1-Chest of souls- worth either reputation in booty or reputation in souls (u have to choose) and it lights up very bright (illuminates an entire floor of ship making it visible from miles away).
2-Chicken chest-wings on side and can be redeemed at either merchants or gold hoarders (not both) flaps around and squawks very loudly so it gives away position (can jump off ship if not properly supervised).
3-Pearl/Jade/Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald chests-no special qualities but very rare and very valuable. Also pearls should be accessible if diving down and plucking them from oysters.
4-Wine and Rum should be available similar to messages in bottles. There should be bottles hidden in the sand as well as crates of wine or crates of rum (can be sold to the merchants OR the local pub, opening up a 4th faction The Rum Runners!!!
5-The Seasick Chest-Causes a lesser drunkenness to the Grog's Chest but also causes projectile vomiting and vomits on people who face it (Similar to that guys idea up top).
6-The pig chest-requires constant bananas fed to it and oinks very loudly like a pig (also has same properties as chicken chest where it can give away position and fall off ship). Can be redeemed at Merchant OR hoarder.
7-The Dead man's chest-Has the historic Davie Jones' heart inside but at what cost does it come with. (Phenomenally valuable chest protected by the Krakken). To acquire this chest you need to do some Flying Dutchman exploring. Maybe die and explore it until you find the key then defeat the Krakken and this chest will float the the top. Can be redeemed at either Order of Souls tent or Gold Hoarders tent.
8-Rainbow Chest-1 chest per server spawns after a severe storm. When the rain stops a rainbow forms at the end of which will be a beautiful colorful chest.
9-Snake chest-Vibrates and shakes like a snake and also shoots poisonous venom unless pacified. Can be returned to the Merchants or the Hoarders.
10-The blood soaked chest/The chest of Angels-2 chests per server which can only be unlocked after a couple hours of game play. Self explanatory kind of...To achieve the Angel's chest one entire crew must operate peacefully by not sinking ships or killing any living creatures (Skeletons excluded because not living) for x amount of hours. Conversely the Blood Chest can have a bar to reach (kill 5 snakes, 3 pigs, 2 chickens, 6 user players, 20 skeletons and sink at least 1 ship in a single voyage and then sail to the bloody waters out of bounds and claim your reward before sinking the ship.
The ideas of a creative video game development team should be able to fabricate much more than is already available. I love this post because I think treasure is the true love of every pirate and it should be the capitol focus of this video game. (Acquiring more and the most unique types of treasure).

  • Storm chest. Carrying the storm chest in your hold summons a storm that basically follows you until you've turned it in.

  • I say a scuttle chest. It will do damage to your ship from time to time. Better load up on planks lol

  • The shark bait chest: this chest covers you in chum and summons sharks that will only attack the one who carry's the chest.

  • I actually thought about this and had a discussion with my chat. Possibly a chest that has to be turned in at the farthest outpost and your ship location is given on other players maps. Gain gold/xp multipliers for certain things including:
Every time you are shot but repaired.
Killed an enemy on your ship.
All multipliers are kept even if someone sinks your ship. Once they have it, they have to turn it in the opposite direction and all gold/xp is kept on it. So there can be many ships going back and forth until someone turns it in. Call it The Box Of Booty

  • @sc-marx The haunted boat chest is an amazing idea. Plundergeist?

That gives me an idea... Instead of just cursed chests, have cursed skulls!

  • @bo-bilgebottom said in More Cursed Chests:

At the very least have lightning randomly strike the ship.

  • Many of these could apply to skulls as well. Cursed skulls make just as much sense or more.

I also think it might be a cool idea to have increasing value on some cursed chests. The longer you endure their curse or the chances that someone takes it from you, the greater the gold reward you can get for turning it in.
