FPS Drops And Freezing....

    so my PC specs are.
    i5 2400 @3.10GHz
    6GB of ram
    Geforcer GTX 950 (2GB)

    now i may not have the most powerful PC in the world but no other game i play has this much FPS drop and freezing, am i the only one thats having this? it seems to happen the most when im going into port (no players just me) and when i get close to a players ship. no matter if its the big one or little one i will have FPS drops and game freezing that will last until i get killed by the other players. if im just out on the sea just trolling around my FPS is normal (around 30-50FPS) i even when as far as playing music though my mic jake on my PC to see what would happen if i wanted to talk to ppl (i dont have a mic) and my god. once other players ship got close to me my game would just freeze up to where i cant even fight back and i just end up dieing doing to all the freezing. this game is so fvcking unoptimized for PC. even though this game can run on a potato... fvcking PUBG would run better on my PC then SOT and i dont even play PUBG...

    I'm having a similar issue.

    3.5ghz AMD FX 770k Quad Core
    16GB DDR3 1600mhz RAM
    GTX 1060 6GB

    No matter what settings I change I peak at 60fps but most of the time I'm at 35 - 50 on lowest possible settings and 25 - 35 on "Legendary" settings and native resolution (4k) which is what the game recommends. Even when I have decent frames I experience stuttering and some frame skipping. I've tried everything I can think of to fix the issue. My specs are far above the recommended hardware so I'm not sure what the problem is.

    Here is a screenshot on lowest possible settings and 540p resolution.

    @ravynsoul This doesn't make sense. With your specs you should be blowing the doors off of this game. I played with a person that had a GTX 970 and he claimed he was running Legendary on all settings @ 1080 with 90 fps.

    I'm certain you've already done this but check your resource monitor to see if anything else is going on like 100% disk or RAM usage.

    @xpvtx My GPU and CPU are 85% - 100% at Legendary and 4k resolution. At 1080p it's 75 - 85% on legendary. This is, of course, before the patch. I haven't tested the resource usage since the patch. My frames did go up by about 5 - 10fps after this patch though.

    @xpvtx Actually, just tested it. At 4k, post patch, all on legendary except for shadows which is on common... I'm averaging 30fps with peaks at 38fps and occasional dips down to 15fps. My CPU and GPU are both at 95% - 100% constantly and my memory is around 48% - 50%.
