If you really think about it. I feel like this game is sort of a IQ Test of some sort. I think people that don't like this game are basically just somewhat simple minded because they want everything fed to them without any attempt of making an effort to pursue a challenge. I know this is just a game at the end of the day but it's not far out to think that this is the way they see life too... Self Entitled/Lazy/No Imagination... isn't Call of Duty launching a new game later this year? Hmmm... I think we'll have less complaints soon.
Yeah. That's why sandbox games with no predetermined goals and spoon feeding like DayZ, H1Z1, Wurm Online, Minecraft, ARK Survival Evolved, Rust, Subnautica are so unpopular. Because people just want games to spoon feed them. /s
Are you for real? Minecraft is one of the most successful games ever and doesn't hold your hand or spoon feed you on what to do at all. Your 'theory' is clearly not accurate.
All those games you mentioned couldn't be more completely different to SoT, it's like comparing a potato with a pencil sharpener, like seriously. All those games you have listed, have crafting... everyone likes crafting... if you could build your own ship from bottom up in sea of thieves then i feel it would change the game a c**p ton and peoples thoughts on it, i feel the game would be a lot more popular as well, and that alone adding that would add on 100+ more hours to the gameplay.
Also most those games you mentioned have goals...
Ark- Level up to max, make a base, tame dinos and become an alpha tribe to control the sever.
Subnautica- build up your base and make a spaceship to get off the planet.
Rust- Just a base building game revolved around pvp.. this is your goal.. pvp and gather loot.
Wurm- Haven't actually played that much, but felt like you just make a house and guild. you could fight for territory.. though there is alot of progression with your character stats and what you can do... can't compare it at all to SoT
DayZ- The only game you mentioned that's doing terrible. stayed in EA alpha for so many years and only just came to beta... weeeeeow.
Minecraft- It's lego. your goal is to build what your heart desires and get all the sweet sweet diamonds.. oh and defeat a dragon.
H1Z1- It's rust, but not.You cannot pull up ANY games like these and compare it to a game like sea of thieves, it just doesn't work that way.
First off, I would just like to say that the way you described H1Z1 made me die laughing a little lol. I know what you're saying they all have goals... but so does SoT.. you're right you can't compare it to those games but another point has been proven, It's another type of game on its own. Someone said it best... SoT is NOT a Sandbox, its a Playground. The goal? Make your story, Make Your Experience, and Make dat Gold! Listen, trust me when I say I love this game and I do agree it needs more but that's the point man.. it's going to continuously be upgraded unlike games where you buy like COD and that's all you get.. So in a sense the 10 year Plan with this game and the content we'll be getting is another added reason why this game is just going to get better.
