Some of you are really entitled...

  • Seriously guys? Come on. This happens mostly on every launch of every game.

Servers are down/gated because Rare is fixing the major issues. Do you really want delayed gold/rep, and having to leave the world each time to update? Do you really want your guns messed up still? They're fixing it as we speak. And yet, some of you come here griping on and on like it's helping a cause.

It was frustrating, yeah, but oh my god, it HAS to be expected. Give Rare some credit for even jumping in the guns to fix it ASAP. Go outside or something.

...as a fellow World of Warcraft player since Vanilla-version of that game, I've been dealt shares of playing on launch day. This is expected, and doesn't even scratch the surface of a "bad launch".

  • I only have two titles... Insider and Founder. I've seen some with four titles though. =D

  • It's not entitled to expect it to work, but coming onto the forums and complaining about it won't do anything but make people feel better, unfortunately.

Like you say, this is a regular occurrence for big name games which are exclusively online.

  • Servers are down because of the influx of Game Pass 14 day free trial players. Entitled ...you are 100% correct, people that paid $60 are entitled to be first in line. Game Pass should be shut off till the servers can handle the load.

  • @weepaperboats I was there for WoW, while I agree that was as bad.. but was 14+ years ago. They should of been able to handle that.

Also yes I am entitled thank you, my $60 states I can be thanks!

  • @weepaperboats there is nothing wrong in expecting that a program is going to work like it was advertised. Now i understand that since this is a video game a lot of people seem to think about it differently, but the company made a promise and didn't deliver; that's it. I understand that it happens and do not think less of Rare for it, actually happy that they had a larger fan base then they anticipated, but to imply that people are less because they just want one ^$&#!*& game to work correctly right out of the gate, is a d**k move.

No, I really don't think it's a d**k move at all. I mean what... You'll get some blokes stating they want a full refund, griping online, making a community sour, then the responses they get are basically others saying "See ya later, sucker. Your loss". I'd laugh up a storm if someone got a $60 refund, then an hour later the game is completely fixed. If someone has had any inkling that there wouldn't be any problems out the gate, they need to take another look.

We have to be appreciative that Rare is even doing this so quickly; thus gating the server to fix these annoying problems. I for one, would not like to log out each time to get my plundered gold.

  • The issue is we were lied to and ignored. We were told the stress tests would help resolve these issues. It didnt.
People posted ideas how to resolve these issues before launch. None of it implemented.
Edit: It’s also unacceptable to say this is the norm with new releases. Shame on you for defending this terrible system. This shouldnt be he normal players should expect.

You are litterally saying. “Buy our game but dont expect to play.”

  • Yeah, there's some pretty vile and childish things being said. Outside of Alpha and Beta I've played for about 2 min and I'm completely okay with this.

You found the perfect word to describe these undesirables, "entitled" is perfect.

  • @eric-von-jester absolutely! God forbid i want to play a game i bought. Shame on me for expecting service.

  • @lintaglen Yep, calm down and wait. They are doing their best. :)

Absolutely. I'm impressed Rare has basically been non-stop with technical attempts.

  • @lintaglen No one was lied too, that is just a blatant overstatement. Being ignored could be argued but that as to be looked out retrospectively so its always a really hard argument. Now, if you want to b***h about them not being prepared or being lazy, you could go that way.

Do agree with accepting every s**t launch just because every launch before it was bad. This is not something anyone should do in there personal life, if your first SO was s****y, don't just let everyone after that treat you like s**t because so far they all have.

  • @WeePaperBoats
Technical issues easily avoidable. Discussed this in posts prior to release, but feel free to defend poor product management. I'm sure Rares e-peen comes in a variety of flavors.

    @diabolicleaf481
The blatant lie was that the stress tests were enough for them to gauge what the release should be like for them so they could prepare.

Being ignored about people have thrown out dozens of ideas on how to make the launch go smoother. It wouldn't have to be retrospective if they were better prepared.

The thing about a first s****y SO, you learn what you liked and didn't like. You watch your friends relationships and go "God... glad I don't have a boy/girl like that!" What you learned from those situations you go forward and are better equipped at noticing red flags. Rare sent up TONS of these and people still defend them.

I still say stop defending p**s poor products. Give them constructive criticism and let them know what they did is NOT ok so they can fix it! Don't defend bad behavior.
