Hey fellow seadogs, so basically if at this point you still don't know how to gain access to the Sea of Thieves Closed Beta (shame on you), then I put together this helpful video to...well...help you.
Now, with that said, there are two ways that you can gain access to the Sea of Thieves Closed Beta on January 24th.
The first way is through the Sea of Thieves Insider Program, if you don’t know this is kind of like the Sea of Thieves newsletter where you get weekly updates about the game and its progress. If you signed up to the Insider Program BEFORE 1st December 2017 you will be granted access to the Closed Beta but ONLY if you signed up before then, don’t be signing up to it now thinking that you’ll get in.
The second way to get in, if you aren’t on the Insider Program, is to pre-order the game. Now this option isn’t really time sensitive as long as you get your pre-order in before the Beta launches. One thing to note though, if you ordered the game digitally, it’ll magically appear in your game library regardless of whether you’re on Windows or Xbox. If you pre-ordered the game through a retailer, you will need to redeem the code for the Black Dog cosmetic pack. Once you have done this, the game will appear in your games library 24 hours before the Closed Beta begins and then you just need to download and install the game.
Now if you can tick either of those boxes you will notice the Sea of Thieves Closed Beta appear in your game library 24-hours before the Beta begins so check your Xbox Library and your Windows Gaming library also at that time. Equally I’d recommend you keep an eye on your email accounts also, in some cases you will find that game developers will email you a key or further instructions on how to unlock the Beta program for their game, so keep an eye on those inboxes and be sure to check your spam folder too.
