More Food, More MEAT!!!

  • I would love to sink my teeth into some shark meat while downing my tasty grog after cashing in a few rare and a mythical chest.
The ability to take a shark's body after it dies, and use it to make and eat cooked shark meat sounds like a lot of fun. A grog-drowning pirate can not be satisfied with a diet consisting of only bananas...

    Potential (RARE) meat?

    • Dragon
    • Mermaid
    • Kraken
    • Dinosaur

I like the idea of being able to purchase meat, like the above examples, and being able to switch from a banana, to the purchased meat or even another food item, which all heals the exact same amount, but looks different, and possibly even sounds different.

  • While I do think SoT needs more food variety, we have to keep in mind it's still a "simple" game at it's core.

I don't think there's a chance that we'll be going out to individually collect different types of food. Instead, I'd like to see barrels re-labeled as containing "food" (or something similar) instead of "bananas". Then, when you select food from the action wheel, you might be holding a banana, orange, coconut, meat, etc.

  • I have been thinking about food variety in the game too. I propose we keep the bananas but add more fruit or introduce vegetables.

Secondly, meat should be harvested buying killing animals like the chickens for drumsticks. For a pirates hard work, they receive additional health on their health bar. This would still be fair as all pirates could do this. However, it might help a player in a 2 versus one situation.

  • @augunslingin In a perfect situation, I don't think a player should be able to win a 1v2. It's just not very realistic. However, I do think it's important to think outside the box in order to defeat 2 other players. The element of surprise goes a long way. So does that perfect Blunderbuss shot to the face.

  • @Dan-Storms Thank you for your input! I understand the need for balance in PVP. My hope is that a boost might assist in a single player or two man crew more easily evading a large crew.

  • @godofpeanuts31 While I definitely agree with additions of new foods, I think mermaid meat is a little farfetched, and I don't think Rare ever plans on even adding a dragon or dinosaur.

  • @residentapple12 While I have to agree with you on the fact that most of that meat will most likely never see the light of the day, it is more the idea of variety I want to share. Just in my personal opinion, finding some RARE dragon or mermaid meat while on a voyage sounds so epic in my opinion. Yesterday, at work, I asked almost every one of my co-workers on shift if they would try mermaid meat, and none said yes :/
I would devour mermaid meat!! (My mouth gets wet thinking about it...)

  • @dan-storms I am well aware, that is why I was just simply sharing my own thoughts, I know that the game still has... An entire Golden Age to come, and I fully intend on sinking my cutlass into the scrolls of history for an age that is to come.

YOU DARE SUGGEST EATING MY SEA SAVIORS!?!? I WILL NOT STAND FOR IT!!!!!

In all seriousness, having a use of killing a shark would be cool.

  • @sir-kringle Hahahaha, I waited for someone to raise this point!! I do intend on eating mermaids if possible, but only mermaids that can be killed in fair combat, which means hostile mermaids, and our lovely mermaid saviors are not hostile, they honestly help us, but remember. Not every human is bad, and not every mermaid is good...
Would be interesting if once you ate too much mermaid meat, mermaids no longer rescue the ship, instead, you receive assistance from another interesting, intellectual sea creature

    Too true

  • Wait......wait.......WAIT!!! All this talk about different meats....

    What about the......

    VEGETARIANS!!!?

And NO. Banana's are not a vegetable 😆 (Nor am I a vegetarian)

  • I want them to keep it to stuff like oranges, pineapples, and coconuts.

In other words things that, like bananas, you're supposed to "peel", but we just shove whole into our dumb pirate mouths. :)

  • Bananas are the way to go forward imo.
At sea the most common meat is human meat haha why not eat the fat ones ?

  • Hate to bring up old posts, but we need Fishing

  • Yes, blow up a powder barrel under sea and have all the fishes float!
