Dear Development Team, please take my post seriously.

  • Dear Development Team,
It’s my great honor to speak here. I’d like to share a suggestion. I feel you simply don’t understand what players truly want. You stubbornly believe that Sea of Thieves should only be about pirates killing and plundering one another.
If you could really put a stop to cheats and create a truly clean gaming environment where everyone competes purely with skill, no one would complain. However, you haven’t done well in this regard. Cheats run rampant, completely ruining the experience for legitimate players.
Therefore, I sincerely hope you will add proper private lobbies — not the limited private seas like the beginner zones we had before. The rewards and in-game content should be exactly the same as in public servers. This would bring back many returning players.
I myself quit the game because of the overwhelming cheating problems, yet I still hold this game in very high regard. I truly hope that one day you will release genuine private lobbies with 100% normal rewards and full game content. If that day comes, I will gladly come back to play again.

  • @magotan7601 Cheats don't run rampant, cheating accusations do

  • Scooby Doo meme where the villain is unmasked to be SAFER SEAS - FULL PROGRESSION!

  • You stubbornly believe that Sea of Thieves should only be about pirates killing and plundering one another.

No that is what the small group of players believe. But Rare wants stories created by other pirates. If it be battles or goofy stuff.

No game does this. Look at Fortnite as example.
Some group is always gonna complain about something. If it be cheaters or boring gameplay

Again a post that wants everything to be given for a single player experience.
A game overall that changes every requirement to achieve something cosmetic just for they can 100% the game and quit month later.

Game is built for player interactions.
You take that out is basically windrose or whatever that game is called. Go play that if you want a pirate single player with side of co-op.

So far the only cheaters ever spotted is hourglass. Everything else is most likely “your lack of skill” to notice others aren’t cheating but enjoying the game as it was delivered

The dev are keeping that in the game and I thank them for not bending the knee. It’s the players who dive into this game with a mindset everything should be hankie dorie and be peaceful sailing all the time.

The tutorial explains this if you kids actually did them.

  • The game design and intent for Sea of Thieves is a shared world adventure, and it always will be. Those who wish to play in the confines of Safer Seas will always have the option but we will not bring the rewards and activities in line with those of High Seas when many of the restrictions are in place due to the risk vs reward factor that is inherent in Sea of Thieves - removing any risk means rewards must be balanced accordingly.

Safer Seas will act not only as a safe space for our Tall Tale players but also for families with children who just want to pirate, for people who want to play the game but learn the ropes and it will organically feed into Adventure mode, keeping the player pool there healthy and upskilled as they've learned the mechanics.

This is not only useful for new players but also families and players with accessibility needs - the whole game suddenly becomes available in a way it hasn't before, letting them naturally progress to High Seas and become a Pirate Legend. SoT has grown a huge amount in 5 years and it can be fairly overwhelming.

The borders put in Safer Seas mean that to experience the full depth and breadth of the game you will have to hit the high seas BUT if you're playing with your family you don't have to, you can just enjoy the game and have fun as a family.
