There's to many tryhards that just spam sniper and blunderbuss and spamkill you. Or maybe just have a -20% weapon damage when using 2 guns. SOT was so much 4-5 years ago and much friendlier , now everybody just wants kills instead of having fun with others and maybe helping a ship out.
Can't hold 2 guns at a time.
What's holding you back from doing the same? Also, have you tried helping another ship out?
@Europa4033 yes i did try helping a ship out while they were dying from a kraken and they didn't care and killed me

There's an unwritten rule in this game, to never trust other pirates. This is why it's best to leave other ships alone, instead of going over to "help" them.
Best help is not helping. Unless they actually say they need help. Just sail by and “you guys in need of support?”
Shoot a white flare also tends to be a signal but that up in the air
I just watched a video of a solo killing an entire galley with a sword, no weapon switching at all.
Just sayin…

Yea if someone’s coming towards me in sot I’ll warn them to stay back if I think there’s a chance they might be innocently approaching. Otherwise, I get my sails ready.

That would make dublegunn so weak that anyone using it, would be unable to reliably get kills.
With that damage decrease, youll need to shoot your enemy at least 3 times, to get the kill.
The problem with that is, that you can eat faster then someone can reload a gun (exept the pistol), which means if your enemy has pineapples, he's pretty much invincible.Forcing players to use a certain loadout is not a good thing, especially since SoT is a sandbox game.
That and good players will still kill you, even if they use a sword, so this nerf to dublegunn won't change your situation.Honestly a lot of veterans will recognize ye new or skill level and usually mess with ya a bit and leave ye be. Most of us be out for sport and good/fun interactions and/or a good fight. Those 'try hards' really do be try hards that also be new that think the objective be to just sink everyone. Hang in there, improve and hold ye own and ye be havin' a good time too. The best times be when they can't sink ye and ye can do what ye want with out worry.

The correlation between player aggression and the game balance of two guns escapes me. Even if you nerfed guns into the ground like you suggest, nothing would stop a player significantly more skilled than you are from killing you with the sword.
As someone who enjoys double gun, I can agree that it can be strong in certain Equal Players VS Equal Players situations, but reducing the damage would destroy the two tap potential of the guns.
Missing is an absolute detriment to a gun player as they’re faced with a long reload time before they can deal nearly any damage again (unless they have a pocket full of Blunderbombs). I personally think if guns receive any nerfs, the reload speed should be looked at instead of the damage. Missing becomes more punishing, encouraging players to time their shots better.
