The Pirate emporium is changing in a few months, and I wanted to share a few ideas during this time to make it better.
I'm gonna be honest here, I love spending money on video games I enjoy playing. but right now, the pirate emporium is just an endless sludge of over the top crazy cosmetics. Clown Pirates. Archeologist Pirates. we even have an entire ship set dedicated to carnivorous plants. it's all so much every direction all at once. and since none of it fits well with other cosmetics or the game world in general, I have not bought anything meaningful in a decent while.
I feel like rare need to establish a permanent catalog of high value premium items, to coincide with the rotating "Carousel" of ship sets and cosmetics. It's fair to say something like this will already exist. Pirate appearance potions, renaming deeds, and pirate profiles are almost definitely not going to be part of the rotating stock.
Interactive emotes
Think about it; we currently have a bundle of rock paper scissors emotes, but they are basically useless as they require 2 people to own and equip them. what if it was just one interactive emote? that would fix all the issues. only one person has to own it, and anyone can join in.
Buyable shanties
Rare is over 40 years old, they have many games with amazing soundtracks, yet we can't play any of those game's songs as shanties. and heck, collaboration shanties would be awesome too! I know I'd drop 8 dollars for WE ARE! as a shanty.
Rare, all I'm asking is for you to give me a reason to buy stuff in your game. I have no reason to support the emporium as it recently spat in the face of the collective lore community. but again, you already know that story.
