New PvE encounters.

  • This is basically a followup to yesterdays Post. Where the first post talked about new Enemies, this one will be about adding new Encounters on the Sea, mostly ships.
    Given what happened to the new Kraken encounter, I'm not holding out much hope for any of this to be implemented, but who knows.
    Season 20, if it even happens and it revolves around the GMU and if Rare actually puts in some effort and doesn't just reskin Skeleton ships (Wow that's a lot of ifs)...
    ... would be the ideal time to introduce some new Naval encounters that could organically spawn and encourage a healthy PvPvE gameplay.

    I) Fire Ships

    • Lightly Crewed Sloops
    • Once they get damaged, they will set themselves on Fire and attempt to Ram the Player Ship.
    • Can be instantly sunk by shooting the Explosives (Smuggler Keg?) they have on board.

    II) Armored Ships

    • Slow, Heavily Armored Galleons that shrug off regular cannon shots
    • Have large staches of Gunpowder on board
    • The Barrels can be shot through Gaps in the Hull or just set on Fire, or you can board the ship.
    • A Barrel Explosion will not only deal Damage but blast off the Armor next to it.

    III) Convois

    • An Armored Ship (without Cannons) accompanied by 2 - 3 Smaller Ships (Sloops / Fire Ships / Maybe a Galleon).
    • The Armored Ship is rich with Loot and will not fight the Players, continuing along its route.
    • The Accompanying Ships will fight Players that get too close.

    IV) Skeleton Rowboats

    • Just randomly spawn Rowboats with Skeletons inside them on the Open Sea
    • Comedy.

    V) Skeleton Fishermen

    • A Skeleton Sloop that doesn't attack, and all the Skeletons on Board are just fishing.
    • Has a large Pile of fish, but they WILL Get mad if you take some of the fish.
    • Also they all have Guns.

    VI) Seacrawler Infestation

    • Skeleton Ships Dive all the time, why do they never get bothered by the Seacrawlers?
    • Add a chance for Seacrawlers to appear on any Skeleton Ship where they will then fight the Skeletons.

    VII) Pirate Hunter

    • Galleon armed to the Teeth and out for Blood.
    • Will aggro at extremely long Range and fire off a flare to signal they have spotted you.
    • Plentiful Goodies on Board, but they WILL Chase you to the ends of the earth once they have spotted you.

    Yeah...fun as it is. I can hear the complaints.

    Galleon?

    Basically a player ship running away....

    Add a chance for Seacrawlers to appear on any Skeleton Ship where they will then fight the Skeletons.

    I want them to appear on my ship....

    Will aggro at extremely long Range and fire off a flare to signal they have spotted you.

    Pretty much...a normal pvp only pirate ship. Without the flare. :P
