Rare, something is messed up here. I've been noticing for the past week weird bugs and strange happenings, but just overlooked them for the most part. But today has been a completely different story. A simple Order quest in the Devil's Roar that should have taken no longer than 10 minutes took me over 45 because every 30 seconds something new was breaking. It started with a skeleton galleon that emerged over 3 squares away on the map that somehow immediately triggered on my vessel. Its hatred knew no bounds, could be appeased by no reason. It was a ship whose cannons were firing despite no skeleton manning them, a ship whose hull would ignore damage entirely more than half the time it was hit.
Then the island, which had literally finished erupting about 3 minutes ago, just before my arrival, suddenly began erupting again. I had yet to even go ashore to begin the quest, and yet a second eruption of the volcano in less than five minutes? Even the gods of the earth had decided to spite me. And suddenly, my game began lagging horrendously. I have an NVIDIA 4070 and a strong computer to match it. I normally can run the game at 144fps with no issues and barely burden the cards. With this eruption, I was rubberbanding like mad despite a perfectly fine ping of 60. My boat was warping through time and space despite being anchored off shore, trying to tear asunder the boundaries between worlds with its dance moves.
After more than 20 minutes of trying to keep my ship afloat despite the game's three-fold attempt to off it using the island, volcanic rocks, and constant cannon fire, I finally managed to sink the galleon. Only for it to vanish beneath the waves AND IMMEDIATELY RE-EMERGE READY FOR ROUND 2! No loot offered as paltry recompense, no hesitation to grant me a breather! Immediately back into the fray and, OH WHAT IS THIS? Another skeleton ship on the horizon has taken note and is now headed to join in!? And ho! The quest skeletons from the island have decided to lend aid, firing endless barrages of pistol fire at my vessel as well! Thank the Lord I was able to grab my mast's ladder by accident and suddenly lose total control of the game, unable to interact further with the world as my last shred of sanity evaporated like the island's shorelines when the volcano erupted for a third time.
Rare, I'm sorry but there's something horrific breaking behind the scenes causing a lot of issues with the game. I beg, please have someone look into it because the sheer quantity of absurdity constantly barraging me from the opening seconds of my journey is destroying my will to play the game. If nothing is going to work, and I'm constantly barraged by an unmanageable degree of problems, I'd rather just take my time elsewhere and I know the game has not been this way for years and I can't imagine this is intentional. So please, heed my desperate cries for mercy.
