I'm sitting in the same room of the same house with my husband who is on my sloop (which is now an uncaptianed ship) because I was kicked and kiwibearded and he still plays. It's been over an hour. This is torture.

Who knows? I'm not a Dev nor a Mod, I cannot answer that. I am speculating based on what we do know. It really depends on what the actual issue is and, if it's a third party, that's outside of even Rare's control. Even if it is something they can fix, this is outside of work hours for most of the folk at Rare.
I would just find something else to play or do for awhile. Keep an eye on the places I mentioned.

Going to be 45°c where I am in Aus today, too hot do anything other than melt on the couchI've only been playing for about a week; and I'm starting to think the Devs WANT this game to go under 😂🤷 Never played ANY other game that doesn't discount a bundle if you already have an item in it ; the bugs can literally ruin your progress for absolutely no reason , they're literally taking away a currecy from everyone , noobs get placed in sweat lobbies to get bullied by pros ; and they literally have zero interest in keeping their game up and working. Saying it's a third party problem is wild too ; considering all my other games and even other Rare Games are working , so it's Sea Of Thieves and not only do they show no interest in fixing it or bringing the servers back on , but they don't even bother to properly let their players know there is even a problem . I had to dig deep to find out that the servers weren't online and that it might be tied to Xbox when they can easily post that on the "Server Status" page , instead of saying " everything is up and running" and I had to go thru the forum just to get an answer . I really WANT to love this game , but they seem to be doing EVERYTHING in their power to make people hate it ; and I'm just starting to wonder "is it intentional" cause it seems like you're doing this on purpose 🤷
i get that but at the same time most servers are still running so thats more then likely why the status page is saying that

Dude it’s an amazing game and it doesnt surprise me that their are some bugs especially after a new update just dropped about a week ago just give it time and have some patience I’m sure it’s mostly due to the storms which is out of anyone’s control@tuskedfir790305 Is putting a small message that says " Xbox Players Might Be Experiencing Login Issues" Too much to write on their status page ? ? And how come me and my other Pirates are locked out , even on PC but I just watched a Streamer log out and back in on Xbox ? ? Something smells fishy , and it isn't the sea mate .
@soup-da-bom Storms knocking out just a single game ? ? Just S.O.T. , not the whole Rare Servers , or an internet outage in the area , just S.O.T. servers? ? Did they keep the S.O.T. servers outside ? ?

Dude chill out it’s not affecting everyone which is why their having a hard time finding the root of the problem and why it wasn’t identified sooner just give it time they’ll figure it out@soup-da-bom It's been a whole day , how much more time do they need ? ? tbh this is the first time for me and ive played the game off and on for a few years now
@lindseyy1994 ive been playing all day and this happens i was grade 5 emissary with athena and was about half way finished with legend of the veil

Outside of the normal monthly update day (which is about 3 hours normally) or an emergency hotfix, these kinds of outages are not common.
We used to get a lot of Strawberrybeard issues on Community Days but that hasn't happened in a very long time. I think the last time we had a Kiwibeard issue like this was about 9 months ago. I don't recall how long that lasted.
