HG Quick Supplies

  • When starting at any Outpost, if a crew votes up hourglass at their respective factions table, they can then go to the shipwright and interact with an Hourglass trinket on the table.
This automatically doubles or triples starting supplies, but it also locks in hourglass flames for your ship for either 30 mins or until you win or sink in your first match. This way the "free" boost to supps is only for use in HG or until you have sank or won at least one ship to "earn" them.
Crews can still buy crates and supplies even afterwards.
This boost to supps would make queueing after sinking much smoother I think, especially considering that crate bug from merchants still exists.

Also, enemy ships that are sunk in HG should be marked on the map for 1-2 mins.

  • More supplies just makes you worth sinking and the winner getting large amount of supplies for outside use of hourglass.

  • I would prefer an HG crate bought from the stranger or skelly on each outpost after you raise HG and either Athena or reapers. Supplies scale to ship size, you can`t sail to another outpost to get a 2nd crate but once you sink in HG your purchases all reset.

  • @miserenz Would probably make more sense to only be able to buy it as a certain streak level since why invest supplies into a ship fighting for you that may not even have a good shot at winning with those supplies? It would help replenish supplies after multiple wins

  • @thedrakyle
If I am on a streak I rarely have a supply problem as I have the other crews supplies. Unless i have just fort several understocked crews.

  • @miserenz Suppose it depends how long it took to sink your opponent but generally, i prefer to have larger supplies when im on a streak so i have an easier time keeping that streak rather than risking instantly losing it all to my first opponent.

  • @thamb0 Adding extra supplies for crews with HG raised is a great idea. The biggest pain in HG is resupplying after a loss, and sometimes you get unlucky with a lack of supplies at the outpost you spawn at. Good thought.

  • @thedrakyle Wouldn't make sense to require you to achieve a streak before letting you get extra supplies. The only fights that you are at risk of running out of supplies are the first few. After you get a couple of wins you may be low on food or chains but that's about it. Unless you are using all of your supplies every match and the crews youre facing don't have enough to restock you, but that's rarely an issue. Adding some extra supplies for the start of an HG streak is a great idea that wouldn't really effect you on a larger streak.

  • Yes. We need to make it easier to go next match.
Right now it takes like 10 mins just to resupply. This intensifies the frustration of losing and gives a lot of time to think about logging off.
Those who lost HG matches should get a HG crate to easily proceed to their next match.
Disabling their ability to lower HG for an extended time would ensure it's not abused.

  • @honeybadger9800 Ya, having our chains doubled would be so helpful, especially if we get unlucky at the outpost we spawned at, like you said.

  • I would be happy if they replaced the underwater / dive tunnel sequence with a waiting / preparation cave. You and your opponent are granted at least 30 seconds to purchase a limited amount of additional supplies like chainshot, cannonballs, healing items, before surfacing. Additional supplies can be purchased between dives using either gold or hourglass sand.

These are the types of small tweaks that I'd love to see developers talk about in updates but, alas, more world events, PvE, and tools that have trivial impact in game.

  • I generally start all of my streaks on default supps so it would make sense to do it after a win.

I know just the place: GSDT ;) Would love to opt to wait there during dives and interact with other people waiting there. MM is pretty fast sometimes though, so maybe it wouldn't be as feasible... but still a wish.
