  • Unfortunately, this is unworkable in Sea of Thieves, due to the drop-in/drop-out nature of the game.

  • But more often than not players are unskilled at battle

Unlucky, Unprepared, Unequiped. Never skilled. Oh and they dont use exploits to win matches, which seems to be a skill thing.

Other players who just get attacked out of the blue are practically sitting ducks 99% of the time.

Because most of these are players attacking ships, sitting at islands unable to defend themselves when they are busy on islands.
You never see an enemy ship, leave there own ship and attack on land first. No they sink a ship that has nobody on it. :P

Players with similar Battle Reputation would be grouped together on servers in order to keep the game fun and challenging.

Thus...Servers with players who do 0 pvp will be in pve servers....

This would also make the game a lot more fun.

    For Whom?

No boats attack out of the blue.

The sitting ducks are the ones not paying attention to thier surroundings, they deserve to sink.

I am always looking at the horizon, seeing what's around me, I never leave the ship to do missions if I see a ship close, or at least keep one player on board to quickly sail away.

Those that stay at outposts when starting a round deserve to be sunk also. 3 or 4 minutes to raid the starting outpost for resources and supplies is all you need. Any longer and you deserve to be a sitting duck.

I have seen many ships sitting at starting docks for 20 to 30 minutes. I class those as my victims.
