Chest of Fortune on the Burning Blade

  • The brig area that holds the chest of fortune and other loot should be locked and only unlock once the burning blade is completed. It's really frustrating to do all the work the sink the burning blade only to find out the Chest was already looted from it. The other World Events loot is locked behind a completion mechanic, why is this any different?

  • I think it makes it way more fun but also I think it's good for smaller crews and crews that aren't high performing pvpers.

    It's only easy to steal/take one in bigger crews and for very experienced players.

    It's pretty difficult for a lot of smaller crews/solos to pull it off successfully.

    Long term appeal for the bb drops off dramatically if they lock it in, imo.

    Right now every style is interested because at a minimum it might be a cof for the comms.

    I've stolen/taken a bunch of them and every one has been exciting. Either putting the boat in a spin for a getaway before sinking, or swimming and hiding it, surviving the sharks, burying it, recovering it, losing it. It's just fun. Pretty much the most fun I've had taking loot because it's random and requires quite a bit of performance to one life it as a solo.

  • Yes, it can be exciting to steal them but they can still be stolen if the area unlocked right after the orange circle pulses out.

    It is just a lot of resources from the boat to sink the burning blade, then no real payout if someone already took it.

    Another idea would be to make the CoF have some sort of indicator so that you know if it has been taken or not, simiar to the sword you get when you sink the Burning Blade.

  • @itscuppyyttv OR hear me out here, when attacking an non player occupied ship you board it real quick and check if its there.

    If you go up against a player controlled one the chance of it being there is basically 0 or at least thats how i go about it, player controlled i expect it to be gone
