I think the game needs these long grindy things. It keeps you in the game and makes you play more. Once you finished everything. What left to do?
I don't disagree with the idea we need long grindy things, but I don't think the blow cones, as they are currently implemented, makes for a good long grindy thing. Sunken Shrines are not usually visited in normal emergent gameplay loops that much, and the spawn rates aren't even 100%. Even with 100% spawn rates, I don't think I'd be spending the time diving to shrines 250 times for the rest of my time playing this game, and people I play with wouldn't be wanting to make stops there. It becomes a task to grind by myself and that's it. Clearing them takes too long for the reward, and leaves you don't moving and more vulnerable for the duration. If blow cones were more common and in a more variety of place, maybe, but we already check sunken ships regularly in our gameplay loops, for fish and kingly loot, and have not seen one in those once. Bone callers on skelly ships, killing emergent spawn enemies, what have you are all fine being grindy, you encounter those constantly. Blow cones are too removed from other activities and too rare to boot to be 250.
