Flag of the Athena’s Mark

The reapers mark flag has been in the game since before there was actual lore or a reapers faction. Not sure rare would add a new flag for this specifically since its just 1 thing doing the same job as something else. But tbf its hard to predict what rare will decide some times.

I like this idea. All the pvpers just go to reapers. But it would be cool to have another option for ghost gang to show themselves on the map.

I'm all for this idea as well! I don't think it would be that hard for them to put a green shader on the current Reapers mark!

@straw-hat-blake I mean sure, why not. But I ask would it really be any different? People will fly it because it marks them or they won't.

False: in 9000 hours of play, I've seen more PvE players doing Reaper than PvP players doing Reaper... And I'm not counting the number of players I've sunk because they were R5, crying because "why?"...

And concerning the original post, the PvP flag as it's called, it was there before the emissaries came out. Today, some people put it there to attract PvP or just to be visible on the map, but in itself it's an outdated flag.

I'm fine with this but from personal experience I'd say 2/3 of players who have left outpost (ie not using to try and spike servers and look for friends) are new players who have raised it accidentally. It's somewhat outdated.

Perhaps they should both be moved behind a requirement (off top of my head distinction 1 in relevant faction) to ensure new players (who never read the description) don't accidentally draw attention

@captain-coel I hesitate because I don’t want to over complicate it. I just want a bluish version of the flag we have now. But there are commendations for wearing the reapers mark. Like the wanderers refuge tall tail. So there could be commendations for it regarding voyages and sinking reapers ships.

@zeyrniyx how people use it shouldn’t determine its lore. The mark itself comes from the necklace that the pirate lord is wearing. So the current reapers are just stealing its power and the meaning behind it. It makes complete sense that new and old players use it differently than its intended.

If there were 2 “teams” of flags then it might change things up from what you’ve seen in your 9000 hours.

Why sinking reapers? They aren't the bad guys.

Great idea. Honestly i would love for the Athena vs Reapers fight to expand more in the sandbox. With Port Merrick being rebuilt they could also do the same thing for Reaper's hideout and implement new activities for the two factions and add a war meter. Then the players choose which faction to represent and by doing these new activities the war bar progresses and in the end a winner chosen by the community.

No FlameHeart just wants the mighty to rule over the weak, and for the whole world to be cursed like he is. That's what he sees as power. The worst thing the Pirate Lord did was make those Skeleton Keys, but Rathbone stole them anyways.
