Ps5 vanguard sails

    For everyone complaining about exclusive cosmetics. I understand its not great but I think a factor many aren't considering:

    The original vanguard sails are revered as they denote a level of experience that is often to be feared on the seas (not always but one of a better initial indicators). These PlayStation version sails will be associated with newbie players who are for most part an easy sink/victim.

    I think a big part of the value is that link which can't be recreated and I'm glad is a thing, it would be nice if I could get the original sails but by doing so they'd lose the very thing that made them valuable. It'd be good if ONLY I got them and everyone else stayed the same...

    I do think the comms weren't handled well and understand frustration at the late reveal though.

    @hiradc the brave vanguard sails are revered because they are rare. they haven't meant anything skill related since April 2018.

    Based off what I've read in the forum, the real issue isn't that they're exclusive to people who purchased the PS version, but that usage is exclusive to the PS5 console.

    What I find fascinating about the whole situation is that folks were willing to buy a second copy of a game that either crashes or performs poorly on their current platforms. The FOMO is real.

    The status game is a harsh game to play, especially in a game like SoT.

    Everything since the beginning has been status this and status that, so, obviously people attached to it, then things change over time because it's live service, the people are told none of that matters and none of that should have mattered lol.

    Best thing about this game is the organic experience. Setting sail and not knowing what might happen.

    Worst part is the status game that's been around since the beginning. The cosmetics, the titles.

    In adventure it should have all been about maybe seeing a shrouded ghost once, maybe seeing a box of secrets a couple of times, in game luck experiences that don't care about the status of a pirate. It's adventure, been too much like highschool along the way imo.

    For me, I simply just love the aesthetic of the Dauntless Adventure sails - the logo is simplistic, yet awesome looking, and I am an enjoyer of red/black sails.

    I unfortunately missed out on the Brave Vanguard/Beta test, and I was definitely excited to have a chance at these, but alas.

    It's not the end of the world, and I'll at least be able to still enjoy them, since my friend is coming back to SoT for the PS5 release.

    😆 That's what I mean. Right now it's a been here awhile(the longest) metric and it's not skill based. Just like the Hourglass curses it's time based. Now in the first couple months of the game it matter because those players had experience.

    I'm just shocked by the platform lock for usage.

    I was considering lightly. Some of the cosmetics in the PS5 bundles were a decent deal. I don't own a copy, just gamepass.

    I don't own a ps5...I'm not buying a ps5 for cosmetics in one game lol. (Or for the like, the 3 exclusives I'd play)

    I'm definitely not buying a copy for another platform if I can't use the FOMO cosmetics on both platforms.

    Not initially. But over time, as the game continues to grow its PS playerbase, they will become increasingly rare.

    The way both companies decided to handle this is "unique" to say the least. Cross over game with separate servers and exclusive cosmetics.

    Sony makes IPhone looks like a social butterfly in comparison.

    I like my BV sails becuse they arrrre only plain sails with toned motive on it and title sounds goood too.

    Buuut im kinda sad for platform lock of P5beta sails.
    More form of expresion on sea is allways better than less.
