Come on guys - Loot

  • We get that you'll never make it super easy for us to earn millions and I except a grind. I mean why would you want to play constantly if it's SO easy. But the new updated payouts for voyages is.... Well.. god awful. The time spent does not = worthy reward.

Did several columns of that spreadsheet get deleted?

Completed a GH skeleton fleet raid and got 6 sailor chests, 1 skeleton captains chest and a couple of the new gold hoarders items. Not great. As it stands I'll probably just sail round looking for emergent as that pays more but man I don't get introducing a handy new mechanic than nerf it out the gate.

  • Im not sure what voyages you did but the payout for simple voyages was very worth while on a gold hoarder stack! I had about 200k or so just from a single stack, which is over double what i would usually get over the same time spent on a stack before.

  • You know the shiny treasure chests and and stuff is imaginary, right? Like, not real. All of it is made up. The cosmetics you buy with it (which is ALL you can do with it..) they’re also not real.

You guys are literally whining about not getting enough 3d rendered meshes and database entries as a reward for having fun. The entire point IS playing to get them. Once you have them they are utterly worthless. They will not improve your marriage counseling sessions. They will not make your dad call you up and tell you he’s proud of you and they won’t make the people at work any nicer to you. They will have absolutely no impact on your life other than seeing a number.

Playing the game though, you can keep those memories for the rest of your life if you choose. So really, with that perspective, do you really want to be sitting here complaining about not having 3 or 4 more pieces of imaginary (not real) loot?

  • Everyone has gotten used to the mass loot piles over the past seasons. They've rebalanced it back to how it should be. Loot has more worth if it's not as abundant. High risk activities have the highest payout, diving to specific faction quests the least. Staying on the server puts you at the most risk, hopping to new voyages has less risk. This is the balance.

  • @grisch1801 oh dude give it a rest I've seen your posts in other messages on here. It's for feedback and suggestions that's exactly what this forum is for.

  • @a10dr4651 to which I'm simply expressing that I'm not keen. If you like it, cool whatever but it the majority end up not liking it then it's a thing isn't it...

  • If they ever take serious steps to chill out alliance server rewards and continue on with this less treasure thing I think it would be better for the game.

I find less overall treasure with decent values to be significantly more appealing than this -treasure all over the place- stuff that has been long going on.

I dunno if they will continue on what they started here but personally I see a lot of potential with it.

  • @wolfmanbush I'm definitely in the camp of less phsycial items but the new items on voyages specifically just don't feel worth the time or even the time to sink people for them to be honest. Saw a few ships with the meagre loot they had managed and just left them to it.

Agreed. The one thing I’m hoping for is them adding longer, more challenging voyages with better loot at the end. So if you want to play the on rails stuff from the captain’s table, go for it. But if you actually want to settle in and experience the sandbox and get lost in it like we used to, then you can grab a different voyage. Personally I wouldn’t care about the loot, but that would be the place to add it.

I did not find anything fulfilling about an RSI in my index finger from slurping loot up off the ship at Sovereigns. Eventually your brain realizes it’s being fooled and stops releasing dopamine and you’ll just need more and more flashes and Cling-clings.

It'll probably evolve, or at least I hope it will.

They will probably tweak some stuff based on feedback. They typically do.

Something I like about what they did here is they didn't start high and then nerf. That never works and it's how content has been killed off in appeal in the past.

Since it didn't start off cheesy there shouldn't be much for nerfs so they can build on it without running everyone off right away.

This new dive system still has uses even without the treasure so it can still keep people involved even if they aren't grinding the content.

Low wait times and a pretty pleasant way to change a server, should maintain longevity.

  • @a10dr4651 That's the problem, yes if a single piece would be worth more and they give you less loot, but the grand total after selling IS NOT the same. It's faaaar less than the gold made before, it's really not worth doing anything but world events, shipwrecks and skelly captains, the rest gives you jack all.
