I got a solid session in last night. The way voyages are structured now where everything feels like it's handed to you on a platter just feels so unsatisfying. We eventually tried one of the retrieval runs in devil's roar for merchant alliance, thinking that would actually have some scope. Nope. You literally start on the destination island and the wreck is like right there every time you do the quest. You can just pick up the logbook and sell it, or you can backtrace finding clues in reverse order that make no sense to find the key.
Every destination is on like the nearest island (why did they even need diving if they were going to do this?) Animal retrieval, everything is just handed to you. Crates and animals all right there on the same island and no skeletons spawning the entire time you're collecting the animals just in case that gets too challenging.
It all feels so watered down and hand-holdy right now. We used to actually enjoy doing voyages but now they really do just feel like pointless busywork.
I guess maybe I should just get with the rest of the playerbase and complain that we're not getting as many pieces of flashy flashy delivered right to our ship in the shortest time. That seems to be who the game is made for now.
