Imagine a sloop with two pirates who are feeling bored and decide to level up as Reapers. On the sea, they come across another sloop that they want to mess with. After some banter, they discover that one of the players is a newcomer and could use some help. Now, the two Reapers have a decision to make: sink or assist. One of them wants to uphold the pirate code and help the newcomer, while the other wants to sink them. They decide to assist the pirate and then eventually engage in some antics and pranks together. After a successful adventure, they set sail and decide to give everything they have to the newcomer and promise to remember each other for future adventures.
This is how we met on the Sea of Thieves almost a year ago, and we just had our first in-real-life meetup. We discussed how following that one pirate code rule could have changed everything if I hadn't done it.
You might be wondering why I'm sharing this now. After all, there are many stories like this on the seas, where pirates meet and form real-life friendships. What are your stories, if you have any?
But for now, see you on the Sea of Thieves.
