Can't fire while aiming down the sights (mouse)

    Since yesterday (Sunday 1 Oct) evening, I haven't been able to use a mouse to fire while aiming down the sights. This is with all the weapons (including lunge while guarding with sword) and cannons on the ship. I've been using a mouse for months, but now

    I have tried turning it off and on again.

    Turning the Xbox (series X) off and on, unplugging as well.

    Checked the settings, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong.

    I have tried other games, and shooting while aiming still works.

    The controller still works.

    My old mouse does the same thing too.

    I can hold the right mouse button, then hold the left, let go of the right and then click the left and then it works, but that really won't work while fighting.

    This seems to be similar to a bug reported in late 2020.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    It’s not you or your devices, it’s the game. There are multiple threads on this issue currently.

    Submit a bug report here. If enough people submit an official support ticket then it will get fixed, unfortunately posting on the forum doesn’t reach the developers.

    All ppl playing with MK on Xbox have the same issue.

    Please report the bug with the support link Asap because we’re relatively few and if we don’t notify rare they will overlook the issue.

    @gaezoso I reported it when Master replied.

    I haven't been on all week though, I don't understand why it's just the mouse. Another thing I tried was reassigning buttons to the keyboard, and was able to fire while aiming, but not when it was mapped to the mouse buttons..

    The problem is not with the game. Latest Xbox update seems to not be able to register simultaneous right and left mouse button clicks.

    You could, you know, use the controller on Xbox.

    Question:

    Are you set to console/controller preferred and waiting until you're spawned in to attach k/m?

    @foambreaker because I prefer to use keyboard and mouse.

    I have no idea. However it is reported to do the same on Roblox, DayZ and Ark…

    Also: for me it stopped suddenly the day of the start of the community weekend and SoT didn’t receive any update that day.

    @arkadesh00 So you are in console only matchmaking mode and trying to use KM?

    Lame, they should not fix this, in fact they probably did it on purpose.

    I’m having the same problem. I only have this problem on sea of thieves.
