Those 3 quotes are from a cheating forum. This complain mostly concerns HG, especially solo/duo sloop and brig.
It's been close to a year now since the cheating situation has been adressed by Rare. Credit where credit is due, I encounter way less blatant hackers than I used to a few months ago but I believe this is just the tip of the iceberg. Basically the dummies and children got caught, as they should, but anyone with a bit of wit can seemingly outsmart Rare's reporting system.
From having people I thought I knew well being closet cheaters to running "tests" with a friend of mine to check for ESPs (i.e boarding by sword dashing at night time several times and checking for reactions) and even people on this very forum being found out for cheat while pretending to be some comp god, I genuienely believe a great numbers of players are cheating while trying to hide it. Hell, if people cheat in the olympics think they'll have remorse about doing it in SoT ?
As of right now, there is virtually no way to get someone using a canon aimbot banned (Even if they're being blatant about it), same goes for ESP. From reporting experience, only blatant gun aimbots seem to result in ban. For reference, I'm over 2000+ HG, by no means the greatest player, but I still feel like something is very fishy, especially on duo sloop EU where people just hit crazy sniper shots all the time. And like, I'm not even talking about the tryhards but I can't help but think something's off when the two 40 days played double cross snipe at mid range pretty consistantly. Is it possible ? Sure, but me and my friends seem to encounter these types of situation in I'd say 40%+ of our duo sloop games. Either everyone and their mom just got godly at the game (which is very much possible since HG playerpool is pretty low) or closet cheating is just a thing nowadays.
I know adding an anticheat isn't some magic solution but it would help ease the uncertainty and overall "sus" atmosphere of HG. I don't want to incite unrest on the forums, just start a discussion about what I believe to be a real phenomenon that, if not adressed, will likely be overlooked.
