Twitch and Alliance server

  • Hello !

I have a friend who would like to stream an alliance server with his Twitch community, and myself as well.
I wanted to know if this is okay or if it's a Sea of Thieves ban ?
After reviewing the general conditions, there doesn't seem to be a problem with this practice, but I have never seen an alliance stream, only Sea of Thieves partners on Twitch.

Thank you for reading and your potential response.

  • @l-psycowini-l there’s nothing wrong with streaming being in an alliance server, however, don’t expect high engagement considering you’re not playing the game the way Rare intended, and to your audience, it’s going to be boring.

    Also:

This is not a debating zone, and your opinion on this matter is not solicited.

This isn’t how things are handled on this forum. Don’t stifle people’s ability or want to reply because it’s not what you want to hear. It’s also in the forum rules so be very careful in future posts and maybe it’s best to edit your current one as not to ruffle the moderator feathers.

You telling me Im not welcome here because my Opinion is different. Rude :(

Thanks for your response, I appreciate that !
If someone has anything else relevant to add, I would be happy to read it.
    :)

  • @l-psycowini-l that’s fine but please read what I just added to my original reply. I think it’s important considering the nature of what you posted.

This post aims to understand the accounting between a stream and an alliance server. I leave it up to you or anyone who wants the opportunity to create a new post for the purpose of discussing whether or not to add peaceful servers to Sea of Thieves / Alliance server. I know that this is a subject that is often probleme, unrelated to my topic.

Maybe you should lookup the definition of a forum because what you state here goes directly against what that is about.

Anyways, as far as we currently know participation in and thus the content creation around alliance servers is not prohibited in any way shape or form

  • If cheesing servers and extreme coordination were against ToS there would be a whole lotta SoT pvp content creators in trouble.

Never a good idea to show exploits or that sort of thing but other than that an alliance server isn't anything different than pvp cheesing in reality.

Streaming an alliance server will be polarizing though so prepare for social drama.

  • Externally formed alliances can be seen as a form of cheating since it gives you an advantage over everyone that naturally formed alliances dont, but it is mostly ignored as a minimal problem by rare and is often kept in a grey area where the most rare will actively do is say they dont like it. Odds are unless anyone becomes toxic in the event something goes wrong, most likely it will just be ignored by rare.

Alliance at your own discretion, as far as i stand it should not be permitted, but while rare holds it in a grey area and doesnt actively crack down on it, then technically you have a right to do so.

  • also, unless you have that thing locked down 100% and all the people involved on board it's pretty much a guarantee that streaming it will get it sabotaged in some way due to streaming it.

  • There should be no problem with the company.

The problem will come from the community, a percentage of which hates the idea of not being able to griefing others, so your friend will probably be showered with insults of all kinds.

There is also the possibility of them trying to snipe and sabotage the server, they are extremely frustrated people who find happiness in ruining the gaming experience for others, being a jerk is not a reason for a ban, so you have to deal with them.

"It's a pirate game" The excuse that justifies absolutely everything in Sea of Thieves.

  • Thank you my friends !
It's time for me to drop my personal anchor on this topic.

I grant you the right to debate whatever you want from now on in this topic, even if it's off-topic. The circus of monkey island is open !

    I'll start:
    Taking a shower is a bad idea because it removes the salt from sweat and goes against the immersion (,;

  • @tesiccl "...it’s going to be boring..."

Looking past all the other things in this thread this is the best feedback. The thing is there are a limited number of PvE encounters and they all have several good videos.

  • @l-psycowini-l as a twitch viewer I can assure you, NOBODY will be interested in watching an alliance server. And google the definition of a forum buddy, it might help

If you've dropped your own 'personal anchor', then I will go ahead and oblige by dropping the full anchor. Also, please do not tell others that they do not have a right to voice their own thoughts, etc. It is rude and not proper forum etiquette. That said, have a good one all and see you out there. :)
