I have found that I seriously cannot enjoy the game without a group of phantoms spawning and absolutely annihilating me as I try to collect my loot. Before you suggest that I fight them off - I sure do try to - but unfortunately these phantoms happen to take 3 shots to kill, contrary to the one shot it takes for the sea fortress ones. So maybe you don’t have to remove them entirely, just literally make their health equal to those of the sea fortress phantoms. It genuinely ruins my game experience, and I don’t know a single person who feels their experience has been enhanced by their presence - so at least make them simple to kill like the skeletons that spawn when you dig treasure, or as previously stated, like their counterparts in the sea forts. Thank you.
Nerf/Remove Phantoms from everywhere but sea forts
@bigfatfood1 how are you struggling to kill something that takes 4 swings of a sword or 2 shots from your gun? It’s the equivalent of a player’s full health. They aren’t difficult.

Yea, I often think about how better the servers would run without Ghosts, captains, and ocean crawlers spawning in every 2 mins. Not to mention all the islands i pass by and see them aswell thinking to myself why isn't there a system to despawn these things when players are gone from a vicinity for a certain time. No wonder the servers are running worse then they ever have.

And I believe they use to be harder back in the time they were introduced.Seems to be also, you done too many sea forts that you gotten use to killing them so quickly, island phantoms just over whelm you.
I dont think they need directly nerfed or removed, they are pretty easy to fight, the big issue i run into is the fact that all 3 pve elements seem to be on their own isolated spawn timers, i have been mid spawning skeletons when phantoms AND ocean crawlers spawn. They need to make the spawn timer for pve foes actually be connected to each other in some way, so if one spawns any other will have to wait a set time before it can as well.
enemies npc are not a problem in my opinion, but if they reduce the spawn rate of the enemies i can only be happy about it, just yesterday i was on Crescent Isle and i have: 5 skeletons spawned after a dig, 2 Red, 2 blue and one green crawlers, and also phantoms, there's more people on that island than in the whole serve

I wouldn't mind spawns being tweaked but def not removed altogether.The difficulty is there's vast range in player skill and experience. Lots of recent changes have made the game overall easier but for experienced players it makes it more dull with less challenge, or pushes you to attack only players and we know how well that is received.
@hiradc do you remember how hard once was the Ashen lord Event? when you have to stop the ship very far from the island because the meteor attack have a huge range of damage? now you can stop the ship on the jetty of cannon cove without worrying about it when the raid starts there, or in the top of the wanderer's refuge while the lord is a little closer to the center. Ahhh the good old days, i'm feeling old
