Make Molten Sands Fortress into Ashen Fort of the Damned. (♡devs please read♡)

  • Make Molten Sands Fortress into Ashen Fort of the Damned.
I’ve had this idea for a while and these are my thoughts. Normal Fort of the Damned has become way too easy and farmable. Graymarrow is an underwhelming and cheeseable boss (when is the last time you have ever seen anyone fight him normally?) The Fort of Fortune gives much more exciting and better loot, especially now with the new Chest of Fortune. Nobody goes to the Devils Roar. You never get to see Ashen Athena Chests in the game anymore. Nobody does Ashen Athena quests anymore because they are not worth it. Veil quests are way too op and I’d argue that Ashen Athenas haven’t been worth it since Thieves Haven runs. Molten Sands Fortress is one of the coolest islands in the game and forts barely ever spawn there. And even when they do, Molten Sands is so out of the way that its not even worth sailing that far for the amount of loot that it gives. Molten Sands is an amazing island that basically never gets visited.
    How this could work.
This Fort should be a lot more difficult than Fort of the Damned and the Fort of Fortunes and it should take an actual time commitment to finish. There are a few reasons for this, one is that Molten Sands is one of, if not the most isolated island in the game. Other people should have time to sail over to it before it gets completed. Another reason for this is the risk/reward factor. Choosing to do this fort should be a risk for all crews (except maybe the most experienced crews) to take on. The Devils Roar is already high risk and this fort should lean into it as that is what the Devils Roar is all about. And a third reason is the loot. This Fort should have high value ashen loot. Ashen Winds skull, Ashen chests, skulls, Chests of Rage, some Athena loot, and an Ashen Athena. This should be the most valuable loot in the game. There are already ashen skeletons, captains, and the ashen lords in the game. Plus, the Herald of the Flame boss. As far as starting the fort, I think a quest that requires you to go to various islands around the Devils Roar that isn’t too annoying to do would be good for the area as a whole. Something along the lines of what the vault key quests are would be cool.
    In conclusion.
Making Molten Sands Fortress into Ashen Fort of the Damned would increase traffic to the Devils Roar and to Molten Sands Fortress. It would get Ashen Athena chests back into the loot rotation. And I genuinely can't think of anything cooler that you could put in the game or anything that would make more sense. I love the SOT devs and I hope they like the idea. I think that they could absolutely make this happen. I know this is a longshot but I really think that this is a good idea that would be great for the game!

… would love to talk to the devs if they like the idea.. just saying!!!
I post about this on my twitter retweets would really help! https://twitter.com/DFMGrl

  • Molten Sands Fortress already gives an increased and varied loot compared to the rest.

If they offered 2 FOTD’s, everyone would just abandon the regular and only do the Molten version. Seems redundant.

It also wouldn’t make sense lore wise considering Old Boot Fort(the old name for FOTD) was transformed by the undead. Why would a fort at the furthest edge of the map be a good place for this better encounter? FOTD works causes it’s the closest fort to the middle.

  • @tesiccl well said..

  • Make Morrow's Peak a starting spawn instead

  • @tesiccl not all people would ONLY do this fort. Like OP said it would be much more difficult to complete, where both risk and reward would be sky high.
And have you ever done a molten sands fort? I have, and I can say that the loot is so trash that I threw up irl.

  • I disagree with it being a new FOTD, but I’d love for it to get more attention! Maybe a different variant of a spawnable boss. An on demand ashen winds fight, of sorts. Different loot pool from an ashen winds or a fort. Maybe one of each ashen item in the game. Could be a pirate legend voyage for doubloons maybe? Where you need to use a way finder to find totem to start the fight. Then the fight is somewhat like a fort fight but with the ashen winds boss(stitcher Jim specifically maybe). I really loved the fight during the herald of the flame, so maybe just reuse that including the way the volcanos react to his health.

I would love to see the roar get more love and especially the fort out there. I just don’t think FOTD 2.0 is quite the vision. Something that fits better with the ashen, volcano, and lore.
