Adding different types of skeletons?

  • So I saw a video that Blurbs did a while ago about acting like a skeleton in a tower.
The only thing that i was wondering about this video was, since Rare introduced the skeleton curse; will they make fat skeletons or just different faced skeletons as AI? It would make tucking or acting as a skeleton much easier without being recognized by players.

Does Rare have any plans of doing so?

  • I doubt that they would make randomized skeletons, if you are tucking and acting like a skeleton, that is more something done out of fun than a proper strategy.

  • I mean you do make a point here, but you do not wanna be recognized if you are a fat skeleton now do you? That would ruin the fun

You will be instantly recognized if some one gets remotely near you since a name will pop up, as well im not sure many people are going to be trying frequent enough to try and act like a skeleton to justify changing npc skeletons as a whole, if the game could even handle that many randomized characters in a world seeing the player limit at hand.

  • I liked that video and it did seem fun, but he had to spend most of his time hopping on top of the tower and hiding so his name didn't show up. That crew had no idea what was going on and it was precious.

  • @goldsmen Not if you hide at the right moment tho, right?

If you hide, then that means you are going to have to run AWAY from the person before they get close enough, and i have never had a skele shoot me then run off, nor has a skeneton that runs away used the same running animation as a player.

  • Eh, I think tuckers have enough power.

  • Doesn't your nickname remain visible if you 'pretend' to be a skeleton?

Your username disappears to other crews when in an emote. Only shows to your own crew mates. That’s why people emote to tuck(change shape and remove username)

  • @abjectarity Oh, that's cool. Did not know that, I thought the disappearing nick name only applies to the hiding emotes.

P.S. Do you have any ideas how guardians could use their curse emotes to blend in ^^? (PL hideout doesn't count since you can't bring loot there :D) Sea fortresses perhaps ^^?

  • @zig-zag-ltu I believe that if you are a skinny pirate, and the conquistador outfit, ghost sword and flintlock would work? If you can hide or do whatever when they come. It would work in some way tho.

  • @superolipro I guess would be interesting to trick some new players, hopefully I will get an opportunity one day to do that. Doubt it would work on any experienced pirate tho ^^

And my pirate is a proper Chad, can't do all this manual labor of carrying loot with cannonballs in your pocket and fight other pirates if you have anorexia .

  • I mean, the average sea fort doer is a swabbie, So you really shouldnt encounter such problems.

  • I don't think that the skeleton curse shouldn't be a way to blend in, as that would be an unfair advantage against other players

  • I want the opposite, for the body adjustment to be removed from skeleton curse so that we would look like NPCs

Not to pretend to be one but just to be a normal skeleton like everyone else, after all, bones don't become fat...

This would REALLY help the creation of cosmetics for the skeleton's curse, having a body pattern would make it even easier than creating clothes for normal models, thus increasing the variety of customization and making the curse cooler.

I have little hope that this will happen but it would be great.
