What is their advantage? People can tuck easier on it, harder to see holes and moving your character around at night unless you pull out the lantern. I never run dark colored hulls anymore. Glory hull seems to be one of the brightest
Dark colored hulls
@karkona At this point is just a matter of preference. There are those who like to go dark style and those who like to sparkle.
@karkona much harder to see where the lower deck is on the galleon at least. Hulls like the Ashen hull that glow below the water are the absolute worst for this. Also IMO it seems easier to disappear or break line of sight in fog/storm with darker non-glowy hulls.
Tucking isn't any easier on say the Eternal Freedom Hull, which is completely black, when you whip out a lantern and have a look around.
I like to run the black pearl hull and sails with hull colored wheel, cannons, and capstan along with the og kraken figure head and a couple well placed blue and green lights to look like a skelly ship on the horizon and possibly be ignored. If I were out on a business trip, I'd probably put on the magpie's glory as it's pretty tough to hide on whitewashed wood but at the end of the day a quick check of tuck spots or a couple blunderbombs will tell you if someone is onboard; it only takes a second and is standard procedure honestly. At the end of the day, I think it's ultimately whatever mood your in at the time that determines the coz you run that day.
