Something that has been frustrating some friends and I as of late has been the new height of the shelf where one would typically put skulls, trinkets, gems, etc. Where there once was a barrel and the shelf directly above it, there is now a bookshelf which has a higher in game model. This means the shelf for loot is a bit higher. So much so, that when anyone tries to put loot on it they simply can't. The loot drop to either the floor or the new shelf more often than not. Which has a lot less space for organizing things. many i've talked to would like to see this either reverted or the bookshelf made smaller. looking forward to seeing this change.

I think it looks good... but when you start trying to display loot it's just not... y'know. Right lol.
Adjust the hitboxes a little and it's great 👍I still put stuff on there all the time. You have to look just a smidge higher than you did before so it doesn't go on the top of the bookshelf, but it was really easy for me to adjust to. If I have to I can grab a screen cap here at some point this weekend. At least on a Sloop (haven't tried in the Brig).

Perhaps it was done because a bunch of streamers and new players where having trouble locating the resource barrels on the ship. Placing a book shelf reduces the chance of getting confused.
Nah, I think the book shelves (along with the new voyage table, and curtain placement) are going to be part of some extended customisation feature. Along with the bed now on the sloop. Having similar items on each ship makes that easier to implement. As long as I get to finally swap out that old red carpet as well, I'll be happy!

But you can! Just look up! It actually looks better than it used to, IMO. 😅
This proves that directional-looking definitely makes a difference in this game. That's part of why expert sword users are so good! They can shift their look-angle rapidly, increasing the attack-arc of their swings. 😊
Sadly, the top of the bookshelf still looks like things are gonna fall off of it..
