Sea of thives to be more playful. Some time get bored!

  • **Regards to all
I recently became a Sea of Thieves player. Right at the beginning I noticed a lot of unrealistic things even some can be said bugs in the game.I will say a few of my opinions, but I would also like others to say whether I am right or not, and whether they agree with my opinions.

First. In a game that should be as much fun in it, there is a lot of nervousness about some things, such as the FOG in the game. It’s so unrealistic that you can’t handle it. Especially since the last update some islands have been added with fog that many of the players will avoid just because of FOG. I think it was added unnecessarily.

Second. Galleon skeleton attacking you at sea, for example, on players with a SLOOP ship, their AIM is so increased that they do not miss a single shot. It even happened to me that I tried to avoid getting out of my way to have a full helt, I was hit by a direct cannon. It's a little unrealistic their aim. And the sloop team will run away and som brigandine ships running to, so the skeleton ship loses meaning in the game.

Third. Lightning and storm. I really mean for lightning not to hit hits directly and for timing not to talk, even when I'm in action with a big dynamite barrel I have to throw it off the boat so it doesn't sink me, because 99% of that is expected and it will happen for sure.

Fourth I see that in the last update you are forcing and trying to move the game to the right part of the map, since you must have seen the gameplay of the map yourself, so you decided to turn off some islands and some outposts. As I stated no one wants an overly dark environment, fog, unrealistic geysers, even many many other things. So in the last few days I've been playing LITERALLY on the right side of the map, not seeing a single boat, and when I switched to the brighter side of the map, there were as many as 4 boats. I thought an empty server no one is playing this game. :-)

fifth. WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT HACKERS since obviously some people don't die first, their second goal is worse than a skeleton ship. So some people hack the game so much that it's not realistic. It's as if the sea and the behavior of the ship in the game have no effect on drowning or killing you with a direct cannon shot, not to mention 2 sniper kills and 2 sword attacks that don't help some characters.

And last I would not like to take away the message, I have many more things to say.An example of ships. Sloop ship mmmm ok for x2 players k, k. Brigandine its not ship for 1-3 players its more like 2-4 same for galleon its minimum 3-6 players. it is impossible to play with these ships even a party of x6 players like me have friends who would play would be resolved by this issue of ship expansion. I understand there will be a lot of lags, but to reduce all of the above items and solve them all.

That's all for now I will not take much time as many will not even read the message until the end when they see how much I wrote. :-) Thank you all and I would love to hear your opinions on what I have written. PS. Sory for my bad English i using a google translate :-) ;-)**

    1. The fog is realistic. Unless you're talking about the green fog? That's still new in the game and had not been explained in-game yet .

    2. If you're on a sloop, 99.9% of the time the game spawns skeleton sloops on you. So if you are being attacked by a skeleton galleon, it's because you aggravated them by being too close or shooting at them before they shoot at you. They sail around the map, and unless you do one of those two things, they won't attack.

    3. Lightning does not ignite barrels every single time. But it is a risk you take when you enter a storm. What is wrong with lightning hitting your boat? That's realistic and it actually puts danger into sailing in a storm.

    4. Don't assume intent. They changed one outpost due to the new story thread starting the green fog. If you don't like it, fine, but the game has been peachy for 4 years and something bad is happening right now. You want the green fog gone? Us pirates are going to try to do something about it in the coming months.

    5. I'm having trouble deciphering what you are talking about. But know this, there is almost no cheating in Sea of Thieves. You said you are new, that comes with the fact that veteran players can kill you very easily. They weren't hacking and you shouldn't start out by blaming hacking when you lose. But when you are suspicious of a hacker, then submit a support ticket. But know that you most likely have never seen a hacker.

    6. You complained earlier about how outclassed you were against a skeleton galleon. How much more so would a player galleon outclass you? And then you want to put 2 more people on those ships? No, all ships have been balanced specifically for that crew size. I have encountered the problem of having more than 4 people want to play before, yeah it's sad at times. My best advice is to try and get on the same server (very hard) or playing separately at the same time, and periodically flip around the crew so everyone plays with everyone.
For example, you have 6 people. You start two brigs with 3 each, and either you make it a gold-making contest or you periodically switch around.
With current server limitations, any extra space on ships would drastically lower the amount of ships allowed on each server.

    1. Im confused as to how Fog is unrealistic? there are times where it gets so foggy, you cant see your hand in front of your face. Use the fog to your advantage. If you are solo slooping, and your being attacked or chased, put your lights out and go right into that fog.

    2. Skelly Galleons don't attack sloops unless provoked. Do not go near them, or fire on them.

    3. Im confused, I'm not sure what you are trying to say?

    4. Talking about Devils Roar? yeah, a lot of people don't go there, but its a high risk, high reward area. I personally enjoy it. They are not turning off other outpost to force people that way, its part of the story line that will be revealed in the next season coming up.

    5. there are not a lot of hackers that I have personally came across. People that have been playing this game for a long time are just good.

    6. The balance of the ships is perfect.

  • @thetilka no on all counts that is all.

  • Complaining about things being unrealistic in a fantasy pirate game is very amusing to me. The fog is lore, (How could you not know that?) as explained by Rare multiple times on YouTube, Discord and likely Twitter, but I don't use Twitter, so I don't know.

  • @thetilka Every game has a curve of learning, all you have mentioned here are various degrees of difficulty and challenges to overcome in SOT. You just have to learn to deal with them:
In case of fog the map is your best guide, in case of skelly ship out fight and out repair, other gamers' vessels can be outrun or out maneuvered and so on.
Just find your way to deal with these challenges and the game will inspire a sense of triumph and joy to play.

  • I’m not saying it’s a bad game on the contrary the game is fun to play. But too many lags, too many stupid things in the game don't make it playful, some misunderstood me but ok. I'm saying that since the last update, too many lags of the game have been created. Just don't, like all the commentators on other games, say that this game is under construction and that corrections and alterations are still being made to it. Still, the game is enough, there is a lot of time. But to make certain things that you change in it is not playful and boring. Does it pay off for players to switch to another game or to keep playing it?
If you say that you listen to other players, it actually becomes suspicious if I, as the player who started playing this game for 20 days, saw that there are already many bugs and server lags in it, and since the game has existed for so long that your servers are still cracking and they lie, which means you don't know what to do with the game and you come up with nonsense that leads to those lags and bugs.
In 20 days of playing, I have mastered it quite well, and with my 35 years and 30 years of playing games, I point out that a good game stops being destroyed, that's all. Because I have played many games so far and I play them for 5-10 hours a day and for too long. I say from experience that the game gets better and not worse. But the creators and administrators of the games are not interested in that, because they do as they say again, I agree, but don't hate people who give you a recommendation of what you could do. That's all because this is the last thing I will write because I see that as in every Forum I see that there are HATERS and people to whom what I propose does not suit because there will be no others who can remove them from the throne. THANKS

Haters? All the post above were just explaining and commenting why these things happen. If anything, you're the "hater" for not accepting valid criticism.
I might be on a throne, but you are on your high horse and need to get off, IMMEDIATELY!

This is sold as a GAAS: Game as a Service - there are supposed to be alterations, additions &c.

Especially since the last update some islands have been added with fog that many of the players will avoid just because of FOG. I think it was added unnecessarily.

What do you mean we can’t handle it? We do it all the time. You do need to go a bit slower unless you know the area very well. This seems right. The fog on the islands is there for the story. It creates a very dark tone and oppressive feeling. This fits.

Leave them alone and they will leave you alone if you are a sloop. You have to get very close to them, or attack them first to get them to attack you. The only caveat to that is if you accidentally sail through the fleet event.

Third. Lightning and storm. I really mean for lightning not to hit hits directly and for timing not to talk, even when I'm in action with a big dynamite barrel I have to throw it off the boat so it doesn't sink me, because 99% of that is expected and it will happen for sure.

If you are carrying explosives, then yes, I agree that it is a good idea to avoid sources of fire and lightning. How is this a problem? And why is this point buried in a post complaining about the lack of realism? Electrical storms are not good places for floating lightening rods carrying explosives.

Fourth I see that in the last update you are forcing and trying to move the game to the right part of the map, since you must have seen the gameplay of the map yourself, so you decided to turn off some islands and some outposts. As far as Golden Sands Outpost goes, there is a history there. I believe THAT is why they picked that outpost. The set of clues for the Wanda/Warsmith storyline also started there many years ago. I highly doubt the choice of outposts and islands was based on manipulating the player population to frequent one area or another. This isn’t a supermarket.
