South Pacific area...

  • Here is a suggestion for future expansion of the map...the South Pacific! It is tropical but with a very different look than the more Caribbean style we currently have.

Lush green islands, coconut trees, volcanoes, tiki torches, Polynesian lore and styles, outriggers and catamarans, etc...

Woku, Java and Portuguese style ships

Edit: oh south Pacific, my mind went to southeast asia.

  • @talvheet

Asia would be another great idea, even Jack Sparrow visited there!

    South Pacific first though 😉

  • Guys need to learn or read about the current state of the game. The idea may appear good but they can’t expand the map.

The SoT is the area you are in surrounded by thick red seas and mist preventing people from leaving or entering unless they meet the right ways to do so or have item.

From the game stand point. They can’t expand the map anymore due to limited tech of the game. Mainly Xbox one users. :/

  • @burnbacon

Hmm, my apologies. Now I know.

Well, maybe a single themed island with accompanying Tall Tale along with the added Polynesian style outfits, equipment, boats, etc.

All just wishful thinking, whether it can be done or not.

It's fiction. They can do anything they want.

And as for the XB1 users, they could have different instances for the different hardware (as other games currently do).

It's not as much of a reason as an excuse for not doing something... So if Rare just doesn't want to do something, just be honest and say that instead of hiding behind "~we can't do it because it'll make all the other stuff look ridiculous."

  • @burnbacon Client side, Xbox One and low-end PCs would struggle most to render stuff. But that's not really the issue. The issue is more host side. The water physics consume a ridiculous amount of processing power on the server side. That and being on an older, albeit heavily customized, version of Unreal Engine are more so the limitations as I understand it.

  • And they gave everyone fireworks.
