Emporium Event Idea!

  • I think there are a lot people who have missed out on a Twitch drop set, and they greatly regret it. I feel that if there was an event for the emporium, where people could pay ancient coins for any Twitch drop they have missed in the past, it would be greatly appreciated by the community. I missed out on the jacket for the gilded phoenix set, and it is one of the biggest mistakes that I have made. I would gladly pay $10 for the jacket alone. Of course that would be too much for each piece of the set, but I would definitely pay $10 to complete the set. I was discussing this with a friend who had the jacket, and that was when I got the idea for the emporium event. It would obviously have to be a very time limited event, because the pirate emporium doesn't need to be too flushed out.
And then there is the argument, "But that would defeat the purpose of the Twitch drops." I counter that with the fact that the streamers have already made their popularity and boosts from the Twitch drops, once its over, they have nothing more to gain from those drops (at least until the next ones roll out). And then there's the fact that the Twitch drops are free, which help boost the streamers. It gives people a reason to go to these streamers to get the free drops. And for this emporium event, it gives people the option to pay for the free cosmetics they missed out on.
I see now downside to this, and I believe it could even help Rare with some extra money. And it would be seen positively by the community.
Thank you all for reading! Let me know what you think?

  • I'm not paying money because I forgot to watch a random streamer, on a muted tab, for 20 minutes, on an arbitrary day. Twitch drop items being 'exclusive' is a joke; they have nothing in common with any other exclusive cosmetics, which required us to actually play the game.

I dont think Rare would do this, but i think i know why you dont see the point directly.

Rare uses Items to promote streamers while having a deal with prime gaming.

You have to watch a streamer and also get prime gaming for free cosmetics. Perhaps you like the streamer and stay.
The streamer gets more views and in this promotes SoT much more.
Prime get more people who pay for it.

People like stuff, you yourself are a grest example, and start having the fear of missing out. So they stay with prime gaming and twitch.

If you could buy the cosmetics later, you wouldnt think as much of SoT as before.
Missing a stream? Maybe buying it later (and probably not buying it).

Should i get prime gaming? Nahhh, i just buy the cosmetic i like directly.

  • @neon-ic0n Woah! It's almost like it's not forcing you to buy it! Crazy!
Seriously tho, it's only meant for people who would be interested in paying money for something they missed out on. If you didn't mis out on it, then don't buy it. If you missed it, don't wanna spend money, and you just want it for free, then that just isn't logical.

  • @panguru3694 Ohh, I didn't think of the deals they made for those twitch drops. Knowing that, that makes my idea a lot less likely. Thanks for letting me know. Also I actually don't fully understand the whole "Prime" situation. I don't know what "Prime Gaming" is, and how it has any affect on twitch drops and streamers. Could you explain that for me, regarding this scenario.
You say people may just not care for watching a stream, and they'll just settle buying the cosmetics. (Unless I am still misunderstanding it,) I have two reasons that is wrong. 1. People almost never say "Nah, why get it for free when I can pay for it?" And with that reason, there are still 99% of people who visit the streamers during twitch drops. 2. I am talking about an Emporium Event, this is very time limited, meaning people can't just choose not to participate in streams, and go to the emporium instead.
But please let me know if I am misunderstanding you at all.

  • @zollin2400

One thing is, i maybe dont know, that there are Twitch-Drops which dont require Prime Gaming. Could be. But i know there are Twitch-Drops which require it:

I talked about these drops. Let me know, if there are others which dont require Prime Gaming.
Prime Gaming price is around 8€, perhaps?

If there are free cosmetics (not like my example) then yes, i can see your point. Why dont use them again, by selling them.

  • @panguru3694 I actually only knew of a couple cosmetics that require prime gaming. But most don't, such as the gilded phoenix set. And sets that don't require prime gaming could be placed in that emporium event. But thank you for bringing up Prime Gaming, since I forgot about it, and it is a good point to make.
