I recently played Sea of thieves with my friends yesterday, 6/9/21; and we were doing the "Revenge of the Morningstar" tall tale. It took us 5 hours to set it up, locate the uniforms, translate the code, and right when we were ready to start the boss fight, some idiot player boarded my boat, killed my crew and myself, then sunk my boat, taking a barrel full of food, ammo, and cannon balls that we worked so hard to stockpile for this tall tale. Naturally we were furious as hell and just said screw this and left. Thats been the recent problem where you have players that have beaten the game and have nothing better to do but to screw with players like us who want to get the tall tales done and have a great time playing this game but we can't cause of them. We ALL had an Idea where y'all can make a private servers for players like us so we can get stuff done in the game and help others out as well. Also in this private server we could have a fleet of our friends to play with us as well because......well I'm a Twitch streamer and alot of our viewers want to paly with us and we always have a full crew and we want to play with viewers but we can't due to the restrictions of 4. So a way where our friends and viewers alike can play with us in say a Fleet in the same server that we can invite them too would be awesome. To summerize: We need private servers where we can get stuff done and a way to invite our friends/viewers into a fleet in the same served.

They’re not going to remove PvP no matter how many people want it gone. It’s always been a PvPvE game and will always remain so.

You’re the 3rd person today. Even if more people keep asking for it, rare isn’t going to add PvE servers!
About your viewers wanting to play with you, if become a partner you get access to custom servers. You won’t keep any gold or reputation you make in these servers, but you can privately interact with your viewers.
Yes I know it’s hard to become a partner, but until you become one you probably wont have that many keen viewers
I do not think its fair calling them idiots. You are all in a open shared world with PvP. It sounds like one player took your entire crew out so I am guessing you all are not too good at PvP. That is not meant as an insult by the way there are alot more important things in life than being good at PvP in a video game. However due to lack of PvP skill I do recommend that you increase your awareness of who and what is around your ship. Look for mermaids when you get to an island, check around for any nerby ships. You can try to keep a crew mate on ship (take turns staying on ship that is what my crew does so no one has to just be on ship duty).If you all have to go off to an island and leave your ship unattended grab a blunder bomb , take out your sword when you get back on and check all the tuck locations.
Just a few tips from someone who has played since the day the game came out.
Rare isnt making servers for you to play PvE on anytime soon. They have addressed this at lenghth on their recent pod cast which you can find at the top of this forum section.
Im against carbon copy PvE servers however with that said and I know people disagree with me and that is fine but I do not see the harm in having Tall Tales be their own instance.
As far as playing with your friends they are making custom servers but no gold no rep.
When someone new/casual plays alone and doesn't make content and takes a beatin' out there it it can be an upsetting experience but you're a streamer with a crew. It's easy to have a good time when others are around and it's easy to turn losing and sinking into laughs and memes for the channel.
Just have fun with it and create entertaining content there isn't much to get upset about when you have people around to laugh it off with.
@tucker1701 One thing you will hear is th PvP is not going away. They NEED a non-PvP way to play. I can say for 100% I now many who would play and enjoy this game without it. So you want to reach the largest audience you give this option.
I played today. No loot or nothing. I was just sailing around to different places and messing around. A group on the map Was just sailing in circles in the same area of the map. I decide to run to the reapers hideout and see what was there. A pirate ship pops up and I hit it a few times and get away. They apparently could see me and they immediately rush over. Oddly their large ship was way faster than my small one. I had been under the impression the small ship was weak but fast. I just sailed into the island that was close and had jumped off and was in the water. They left a pair on my ship and were just waiting to see if I spawned back on it. No food, no supplies, no nothing.
I am fine with the PvP. I am fine with the pirating for loot or whatever. But groups like these are the reason there is a sizeable play base that would play, likely buy a pet or other things, will not play.
There is no need for players to just be there to sink people without the need for anything. At least they sunk your ship. We, my wife and son and I, have had people just stand and wait for us to spawn back in. No intent on looting, sinking, or anything. Just abusing the terrible programming that is a black screen while you are actually in the game and cannot move.

There is 100% no reason this game should not and cannot have PvE servers for those that want it. The $$ left on the table are just wasted. This game has a "connect open world". Yep, other players may be in it. But I have played for hours and never seen any. Common them I hear from people that play. Though sometimes there are players. Still not many. No way there are many per server . Just not seeing enough players.
The sad aspect is that the few I have sever seen are the type that will 100% attack for no reason. Or claim they are friendly and then attack. Just to kill you over and over while spawning in.

How did they grief? Seems like it was one player against 3 or 4 players. They sunk them and took supplies or the maybe they didn’t not sure what op meant by “ taking supplies”. That isn’t griefing, either way whether they took supplies or not. Is it nice? Well I wouldn’t do it but in games with PvP you don’t need to just kill to take.

The reason is the game devs don’t want them which is why I’m not going to waste time discussing PvE servers anymore. It’s why PvE request threads are being locked. I think it’s time for people to respect the game developers decision they have made for their game.

Private or PvE servers only has been a hot topic for a long time and has been addressed fully by Rare in the threads @AribAlam posted. Please take your time to read them. :)
