Imagine dis: Seeing by the deeds system we know that the game knows when a chest has been stolen from another crew. What if there was a trading company that bought stolen chests, and as an emissary allowed you to see ships carrying stolen loot on the map kind of like a reaper ship. Seeing as the GMU, a very important organization in the lore, intent on eradicating piracy, perhaps we could become privateers (licensed pirates) and steal from those who steal for extra gold?
Let us get licensed by the GMU as reaper hunters/thief robbers! (Grand Maritime Union)
@stuffidontknow I hope so, however the shipwreck theme it kind of has tells me that's not what it's gonna be.
@oolnokk The GMU wants to end piracy and exploit the Sea of Thieves. If the gmu gets into the sea it will be as an enemy not a friend.
@captain-coel some of us work for a cult that worships the main enemy that's trying to conquer the sea of thieves. It's pretty clear we're soldiers of fortune that don't care whos giving us the money or why. Also tools not rules man. A privateer is still a pirate, and a thief who steals from thieves is still a thief. They would have a place.
