Ahoi Mates!
It has been discussed many times in other posts and some are of the opinion that 3 standard ships are enough, others want more. Perhaps at some point we will get additional ships from Rare, but from my point of view only as counterparts to the previous ones. For example a schooner next to the sloop, a fluyt next to the brig and a frigate next to the galleon. Maximum standard armament and crew strength remain, but the new ship variants naturally have new hull and sail designs and a different arrangement of the interiors in contrast to the 3 standard ships. Perhaps only minimal adjustment in terms of maneuverability and sailing with or against the wind, as it was with the original ship types of the 17th / 18th centuries. Century also existed, for old Seadogs it would certainly not be a problem with the new ships to make the seas unsafe. But so that there is no imbalance and the players continue to prioritize the standard ships despite all this, the ships would have to be coordinated with each other anyway. Or whatever ideas you can think of.
And as far as the topic of one-man ships or larger ships for more than 4 rum sipping worms-eating bootless Grumpy seaDogs. The rowing boat is already the perfect one-man boat in the game which only needs a handy worldmap on it. And a ship for a maximum of 6 players that is so big that you can see it from another server and has a larger turning circle than Earth does not need the game. Ships for up 1 to 4 players are sufficient for in-game fun and balancing at any time.
