So the captain of a sloop can single-vote their crew-mate to the brig? Yes.

So, you named your ship, what should be your penalty should your precious boat sink?
No more boat? A respawned boat with no name? A gold or doubloon sink to retrieve your named vessel?
Since sailors have named boats since the beginning of time, I assume Rare left this out for a reason.
Probably to promote crew cohesion through dialogue, or some such.
As for a forced captaincy, why should I serve any player that assumes he should be my superior?
I'm an able-bodied seaman with three years sailing the sea of thieves, a competent player.
I dont even know if you can sail or fight. What is it about your captaincy that ensures me I'm not wasting my time or joining a ship of fools?
We are equals until I'm convinced I want to follow you, captain.
This would kill many open crew options for me.
@joe-krakatoa I think ship naming and owning a ship was supposed to he a pirate legend end game thing. You were supposed to sail you ship out of the pirate legend hideout. I'm still waiting.
Plans change, and that was way back before launch, three years ago.
Suffice it to say, SoT has evolved a great deal since then.
Nearly none of it promoting elitism from becoming a pirate legend or ship captain.
@joe-krakatoa evolved? It's stagnant. If it wasnt for my crew I would have given up on this game 3 months after release. Come on Rare, Pirate legends. Show us some love.
