Just some ideas for a new voyage (order of souls) and a seamonster

  • With the last new voyage for the traders, they are now ahead of the goald hoarders and order of souls when it comes to variety. So I think the other two main companies should get some new voyages too. In case of the gold hoarders I'm really not that imaginative... But I have an idea for the order of souls that has some similarities to the 'find a shipwreck' voyage.
So the main goal would be to hunt down some kind of big captain and to do so you need to follow some clues (maybe 2-5 in one voyage). Those clues can be some sort of riddle or a map or whatever. But in the end they will lead you either to an island or a position at sea, where following things can happen:

    • Just sail to the island and find the captain or maybe multiple captains to get the next clue from them.
    • Sail to the island and defeat the captain, but the island is surrounded by maybe 5 ghost ships. You need to defeat them first to anchor at the island and defeat the captain. This should be a little bit more rewarding then just defeating captains.
    • Sail to an island and defeat a ghost ship captain with some ships surrounding him.
    • Sail to a position at sea. Here a small skeleton ship will spawn and you need to defeat it to get the next clue.
Those are just some ideas, maybe someone even has more. But with many different things that can happen, those voyages will not feel stale after completing them for the first 3 times.
But those are just the things that can happen before the final battle of this voyage. Here things like the following could happen:
    • Defeat a mini fort with maybe 4 or 5 waves of skeletons plus a stronger captain.
    • Defeat a big skeleton ship at sea.
    • Defeat 3 small skeleton ships at sea.
If someone has more ideas or would do something differently, feel free to comment.

Another idea would be new seamonster. I thought about a sea serpent, that has different sorts of attacks. First of alle it can hit your ship like a megalodon would do. Nothing special about this. But the serpent could also have an attack where it soaks up water and spits it at your ship like some kind of beam. This will raise the water level in your ship, so you have to go down and get it out (kind of like the whining chest, but more water and faster). Maybe a serpent could even clasp your ship like the kraken is doing. For its movement in the water, I imagine something different from a megalodon, which is just swimming around the ship. I think it would be awesome, if the serpent would appear somewhere, maybe to get air, and while it tries to dive again you can hit it. Because of its length you would see the serpent for a good amount of time. And you can also hit it, when it attacks.

Especially more seamonsters would be great in my opinion (saw a thread about a big crab, which is an awesome idea too), so there is even a possibility for voyages to hunt down some of them. Maybe some kind of a rarity hunter company, where you need to get teeth of monsters or maybe pearls that are hidden in shells, guarded by sharks or something like that.

I hope you like my ideas and maybe we see something like this in the future :)

  • I know the Sea Serpent has been suggested many, many times before, and I think it'd be a great addition to the game.

Otherwise, I like the idea of a longer Order of Souls voyage that combines different gameplay elements to track down a big-shot Skeleton Lord. Naturally, what's been suggested plays out much like existing OOS voyages, where you defeat skeletons and ghosts to obtain clues.

Actually, this could make for a more organic way multiple voyage chapters could be sewn together. Buy a voyage that has you tracking down a skeleton crew: defeat the captains only for one to drop a set of orders that directs you to the location of a Fleet event. Vanquish the fleet to find the final set of orders pointing to the location of the Skeleton Lord behind the operation.

Similarly, a Gold Hoarders voyage in the same vein could have a standard X-marks map voyage lead to an unlocked chest with a riddle inside, which leads to an enchanted compass, and that in turn points to the final vault.

On the other hand, the Shipwreck clue-hunting voyage really only works for the Merchants. OOS is more about a straight-up fight while Gold Hoarders is more about exploration.

  • absolutely love it, hope a new OOS voyage does get added soon. the ghost fleet voyages make we wanna cry the loot is so trash. RARE, HEAR MY WORDS! NO ONE LIKES PLAIN VOYAGES THAT ARE DULL, STALE, REPETITIVE, AND HAVE NO LOOT
