Instead of adding new boats like some players ask for, give us ship upgrades. I've already made a similar post that talked about adding effects, and a way to get rid of that cursed canopy on the sloop (maybe upgrading it to wood?).
Another idea is to add specific visual upgrades for each boat, an example being to make the brig look like a schooner. This way players can get the "new ships" they want, but you don't have to worry about the different speeds and numbers of players over the max of 4. The upgrades should only be available to pirate legends, should be extremely expensive, and should have requirements to unlock them.
There could be smaller upgrades, like a way to upgrade the staircases, the railings, even the compass! Let us richer pirates actually look the part, or if we want to look even more rugged let us do that.
Rare, you don't need to pay me for any of the ideas I post here, so please stop adding more pve content and give us the content we need: more cosmetics. Past maxing all reputations there is no real incentive to play. Most of us are stacked on gold with nothing to spend it on. I expect to wait awhile for anything like this to be added to the game, but I know you know cosmetics are a priority.
PS. Please stop being biased toward galleons, every boat skin feels like its designed to look good on the gally and you put a "one size fits all" label on it. The bias is obvious just from these descriptions:
By the way, the sloop is the hardest to sink ship in the hands of competent players.
