So - I have tested and indeed proven that you can in fact speed-up your fishing by frequently reeling the line even when the fish is not tired.

Do it in frequent small bursts or your rod will break.

BUT, if you do it you can grab a trophy in two tired cycles and you'll pick up the trophy before the third cycle begins.

You'll be able to grab any regular fish within one cycle.

And I believe this is the best achievable speed for fishing. Let me know if it can be done even faster some how.

I was struggling to find written discussion on this, so set out to settle the question myself. It appears that the reeling during the fish fighting your line does nothing but it in fact does a lot. Just need to keep nibbling at the reel.

There is a steady pace that will prevent the line from snapping.
