I do have to admit that seeing a swiss-cheese holed ship at the end of the night is amusing and can be quite impressive of a tale, but there are other times I would like to see a fresh paint job, or my steering wheel repaired properly.
I've asked the ship repair to the devs. Asking just for aestetical repair not actual repair. That way the holes stay on the inside but the ship on the outside looks newly painted. They said that the damage tells a story and they want players to be able to tell that story. Which is backwards because I'm that player and I'm tired of my ship looking like its been through hell because I'm a PvP player. I buy a cosmetic and I can never actually look at it since my boat is riddled with damage. But thats what the devs said.
If its purely aesthetics I'm okay with it.
Allow ship crews to purchase full overhaul repairs at the shipwrights. 10k sloops, 15k brig and 21k for a galleon. You can not buy repairs when in battle, sail down or anchor up.
No. What constitutes battle? A ship runs to port, drops anchor and keeps repairing?? There would have to be a timer installed. I would rather Rare focused on other things.
Supplies! Why can we buy full supply crates or have our ship re-stocked up? You want to go do an event such as the Ghost Ship battle, and its over before you have gotten enough supplies. 200 Canonballs, 150 Planks, 150 bananas for 15k.
No to this a 100x's. An older player with gold to burn can sink their ship, restock their boat and come back to the forts completely stocked up. This hurts newer players and gives older playes too much of an advantage.
Resource management is a skill. Accuracy with your cannons is a skill. Actually being able to repair your boat efficiently without wasting planks is a skill.
These are skills you must develop if you want to get better with managing your resources. Learn those skills and you won't need to stock up as much.
Both the above would help give purpose to all the gold you accumulate and really have little to spend it on.
No it wouldn't. It would give older players too much of an advantage.
Also when a ship is not in combat and is parked at the Shipwright dock, for a 25% loss in profits, why can't I pay to have my my ships haul auto cashed in? Excludes high end treasure such as chest of legends. Some nights I really don't enjoy carrying a single trinket to cash in by hand with my two hands. Or sell me empty chests for 50 gold and I return end of night for 10 gold.
Everyone would use to to safely turn in their loot. A ship is chasing you? Ram it and just do the auto haul option and now you turned in everything instantly. No broski.
1100 doubloons = 160 Ancient Coins - Three currencies never made any sense. Take a page from Fallout 76 they got one thing kinda right! lol
Ancient Coins are there to help increase revenue to Rare. Multiplayer games are not a cash cow after the initial sale of the product. They have to keep servers running and continue updates and paying their employees. Since no one wants to do a monthly subscription they have to find other ways for revenue. That is why micro-transaction in some cases are necessary.
Ancient coins are there to help facilitate the game. If you have the money to burn and you want to support Rare, then buy some of the cosmetics.
See you out there!
You don't want that.......I'll sink you ;)
