Anyone else having trouble updating?
I'm on windows 10 and I usually open the microsoft store and click on sea of thieves to start updating but this time nothing is happening. When I launch the game I get the wrong game version error but am unable to update.
I really wish this game would just run through Steam I never have issues updating, finding/adding friends or any other xbox bs on Steam

Have you tried kick-starting the update by going to the three dots next to your avatar in the store app and clicking Downloads and Updates?
I have heard signing out of the store and back in again can also sometimes kickstart this.
Aye, there's one more step to getting it to work. I found it here:

Basically, there's a blue "update" button on that Downloads & Updates section that needs to be clicked.
Never had this issue before, so I was in the same boat as you.
