Anti-Revenge

  • After your ship is sunk by another player, you should be forced into a new server. I find it annoying how if you sink someone, they will almost always come back to attack you, after you've potentially used all of your resources on the first fight. It is unbalanced and unfair that you can beat someone fair and square the first time, yet still lose to them in the end. Also there are times when you come across the same person multiple times, and if your a reaper, its quite boring and unsportsmanlike to sink them time and time again. I feel it would highly improve the Sea of Thieves experience if you were moved to a different server after being sunken

  • "I took someone's 20 hour loot haul, why are they coming back for their loot!!??!"

  • I beat you so you can't play with me anymore?

What if they wipe you and sink your boat too?

Nah. See previous posts above lol

  • After your ship is sunk by another player, you should be forced into a new server.

Okie, so If You attack me...and I sink You. You gonna be okie being forced into another server? What if you were doing a Fort? or one of those hard to do Events and your nearly done only to be Sunk? No chance of getting back into the fight....

I find it annoying how if you sink someone, they will almost always come back to attack you

Ahh..so it just one sided here.

after you've potentially used all of your resources on the first fight.

Is that all? That seems to say, you didnt aim your cannon shots right, missing alot and taking damage to your own ship.
    Didn't prepare for events.

Take what you said and want.
Is it fair, to start up the FoD only to have someone come along and Sink you before or after finishing it? Now in your words, you want those sunk by players to be forced out of the server. No chance to attempt at reclaiming booty?

Also there are times when you come across the same person multiple times

Yeah...some people dont even get that lucky and encounter anyone.

if your a reaper, its quite boring and unsportsmanlike to sink them time and time again.

Hmmm I can sorta agree. It kind of is a unsporting like to sink a ship that doesnt even have Loot or a flag to capture.

I feel it would highly improve the Sea of Thieves experience if you were moved to a different server after being sunken

Read my explanation why that wont and it will only harm it.

Also, Cheese it. If your gonna lose I would simply Scuttle my ship before you sink me. OR Rowboat myself (Cannon version) and attack you. You didnt sink my ship...so I can keep coming.

  • I could understand getting server swapped after maybe the 3rd sink, but on the first...? That's a bit much...

  • Not sure of any means to go about implementing such a thing without causing more upset. Force-server-swapping regardless of the amount you've been sunk just creates problems as mentioned in above replies.

Without trying to sound sarcastic, as that attitude is distasteful, the option to leave and join another server from the game's front-end is always a valid one should a crew become a nuisance to you or your fellow crew mates. Now, if you are trying to fish for a feature that would let you hop servers then, again, that's already in the game and used by many people from time to time, me included. This doesn't carry over quest progress, however - and it is at this point I could understand a feature request getting considered.

An overly griefed crew - to the point of absurdity - will understandably want to leave a game. This will result in the abandoning of all quests and quest progress they made in their server, which would just add to the sense of punishment they might feel being dished out to them. I think here you might get traction - it is, after all, a feature we have seen in the form of Tall Tale checkpoints previously.

You can just pretend it's another ship.
The fact that it is the same as the previous one doesn't really mean anything.
