Sometimes when browsing the clothing shop in the game i see a item i really like the look of but wish i could change the colour of it to more freely apply it to outfits. What if we could buy and apply dyes to clothing to further distinguish our outfits from the rest of the players.
My thoughts currently are to only apply this to the clothes specifically in the clothing store and not outfits and stuff from the pirate emporium and so on.

If you head to the Community menu and then select search, there is a pretty decent advanced search now to use.

I would love to go one step further and add crafting to that so you can use the materials around you and artefacts found in the world to embellish your clothing and items.
@musicmee NOOOO! We don't need crafting as well! That's just another stress to add to the game gathering materials!
I also think that Dye works as long as it is just to embellish some parts and not the whole piece - otherwise all those bought sets become redundant.
I already had this thought, instead of bringing reskins every update why not just give us the option to color it ourselves?
Very good question, I think they're not making this an option because maybe in some way Rare would see that some players would be missusing this entirely and creating characters that do not fit the meant game art style at all.
If this is the reason why this wasn't added I say it's a noble cause not to make this feature a thing

This game is all about the cosmetic control so why the hell not let us colour them ourselves...
The answer is probably and sadly the value. It's easier for rare to release a reskined version of an outfit with an added cost than let you do it yourself for free...
It's an awesome idea and fits the game design perfectly but sadly I think the cash cow attitude might be what is crushing this dream.

That's quite unfair and untrue - the items from the Emporium aren't really just a recoloured version of existing ones.
@laughsmaniacaly actually a good point. Recolor/reskin is a big thing in dbd aswell. And I totally get it. It’s an easy way to throw something at the fans for us to grind towards. Idk I guess it’s okay if the put it in free rift
