I want to pick up a topic again because I have accurate feedback from a certain group of players.
I'm active in a World Of Tanks clan that has a core strength of 16 players. Of these 16 players, 9 played Sea Of Thieves. Currently it's only me playing with a friend who doesn't belong to our clan.
Why is that so, what happened? The development is foreseeable. We agreed who would come into the game when. Since we can't adjust the ship size without canceling an order or finishing it, we're not very dynamic. We always tried to start with the intention of adjusting the ship size. Had three people agreed to meet, a brigantine, etc. In the course of time one of the following events always occurred:
- A player won't join or has to leave early - the ship is too big.
- A player would like to join, but the ship is too small.
Leaving a crew of friends on too large a ship is considered disgraceful. The players therefore often play over the fun and torture themselves - actually they must have stopped long ago, but because of the crew, well, still a little...
Not being able to admit a friend to the crew because you have chosen a ship that is too small is regrettable to the playing crew. With one more person you would choose another job, a more lucrative or more demanding one. Do you break off and start again on a bigger ship? How long this will take! Oh no, too bad, you keep playing. Very often we play together on a sloop, while three friends are in the party with us, but don't join the game, because the entry is too complicated. They watch a video, play something else. This means that players are only prevented from playing the game by the rigid system.
That's why in the future you have to think about playing it over and over again, or do I choose a game where I can play in a group, but still come and go? Especially if you just want to play a few rounds. The latter wins.
Don't think LFG or Discord would fix this. Everytime we start LFG or Discord to get people join, but guess what, it is not the same as playing with your real friends, neither does this work every time. It is not the same and a flaw.
So the old suggestion is repeated:
- Please let us change the ship type at the outpost while the order is running and while the session is running, depending on the size of the crew.
- And please let players who have been active during a section of the game get their share of the success, even if they leave the game before.
