TL;DR | HOW TO SHOOT WHILE CLIMBING LADDERS :

• Approach a ship that you're willing to board and grab one of the ladder
• Climb the ladder until you're about 3 or 4 steps from the top
• Release the ladder
• Hold backward
• Take your shot (while aiming or not)
• And grab the ladder back

IMPORTANT NOTES & VALUES :

Additional steps :

Equip your weapon right before grabbing the ladder or have it already equipt.
Pay attention to your time in the air otherwise you won't be able to grab the ladder back.

Weapons values :

• Flintlock : 50% health damage | Hipfire
• Eye of Reach : 80% health damage | Require to aim
• Blunderbuss : from 0 to 100% health damge | Require to aim (sometimes not)
