Pets, where to start?

    @scallywagmango They do stay away in a fight maybe somehing was wrong when youve played but as soon as you face something they stay away.

    Does anyone else find the addition of pets distracting? Pets I've encountered from other players get in the way all the time. Especially during combat. It would be a nice change if the pets would automatically disappear during combat/ship battles. At the moment they are an annoyance to game-play.

    Actually I would just love if they let us change the way you interact with them. Like for example, I'm using the "reduce hold to interact" feature and I'd love the ability to not activate it for pets. That way I won't take my Pets instead of activating the anchor, trying to get to the wheel, trying to get to the rope to manage the sails etc.

    They don't do anything, and when you engage in fights, they hide somewhere on the ship, usually the captains cabin.

    In other words, it stays out of your way, not that it could block you to begin with... You can walk through the pets, so they arent a bother that way, the stay out of your way in combat, not that they could block your attacks or anything to begin with...

    So what's the actual complaint here? You not being able to focus? I don't get it...

    i dont find them distracting i dont notice they are there when in combat

    I feel like they bring the ship and the game to “life”.

    Well at least the birds. You’d expect some birds to fly around and land in the ship from time to time.

    I will say I personally have no interest in them and wouldn’t buy one.

    I hate Monkeys so I don’t even want those nasty things on my ship!

    Although I like the pets as an enrichment to the world, they are not intended to improve your gameplay. We as a community asked for this feature and you can either choose to bring a pet along for your journey. Keeping those creatures in line is your own responsibility, so lock em up if needed.

    "Sir I'm going to board your ship, may you put your pets in the cages or dismiss them before I board please? That would be great!"
