Ahoy!
I've noticed that there are two types of items that have no Commendations, Achievements or Titles related to them. The first are the various Trade Good Crates one can find in Sea of Thieves, like Crates of Rare Tea, Fine Sugar, etc... These items are quite ubiquitous in-game, however there are no real Commendations or Titles that count their turn-ins. The past Gunpowder Stashes Update was strange in that one of the items players could dig up were these Trade Good Crates, but even then there were no commendations related to selling them to the Merchant Alliance. Perhaps these items should also be included in the Merchant Alliance's Commendations to signify players where to turn them in and give them more value other than gold and reputation for the MA.
The other item is the Box of Wondrous Secrets. While I understand the box is rare and should be unknown by a large percent of the playerbase, it is still strange that something as rare as the Shrouded Ghost exists in the game and the only reward for it is 25,000 gold, which is a relatively small amount. People who encounter the Shrouded Ghost have something to show off in the titles that they can wear.
Why isn't there a similar deal for the Box of Wondrous Secrets? We managed to find one of these elusive boxes a few months ago with our crew and it still feels like the achievement itself is not meaningful as the only thing to show off were screencaps from in-game.
Not only would a Title for having turned in one of these Boxes give something for the lucky players to show off, the commendation itself would give players a hint that this item exists in the game, as right now there isn't any real pointer in the GUI that this item is a real thing unlike the also incredibly rare Shrouded Ghost.
I wonder if the Commendation for the Box isn't there due to coding reasons of having to turn it in to Grace or is there some other reason behind this?
Thoughts?
All the best,
Ed Keppler
