Xbox loading

  • I've been an xbox player since release week and one if the things that has stuck with the game is loading time. I'm not sure if it's internet problems or something else, but my loading times get a little extreame. I don't mean just loading into a game, I mean that when I die and end up on the ferry I will sometimes end up there AFTER the door has opened. The problem wouldn't bug me if some people I didn't know who were also on xbox had way faster loading times or if I didn't have to listen to the sounds of my ship sinking while in combat as I sit on a black screen just waiting to eventually get back into the game. I fell like there has to be something that can be done since things have been like this since I first got the game over a year ago.

  • SSD for xbox is the only fix or play on PC

  • You will get all the same responses from the positive trolls around here. You NEED to buy a external SSD drive, have faster internet or there is no load times issues. Those are the standard responses. But yes you are correct, most who do not have SSD will tell you on the xbox og and xbox s that the load times are absurd. In fact it's one of the reasons I quit playing. One day I was waiting to "load" back to my ship via a mermaid teleport and while waiting on the load screen I thought gee I wish I was playing a game so I took SOT game disc out and inserted Fallout 76, problems solved.

  • @contentzilla I ply for both Xbox and pc. The ssd does resolve this. Without the ssd it is not the worst load times I have seen in games.

  • @contentzilla its an issue with the amount of data that has to be loaded from deive, it is fact that the original internal hardrive in the xbox is a joke (i have the og xbox so believe me i know) an external 3.5 inch usb 3 hard drive made it loads better for me and changing to an ssd was just bliss.

  • Maybe they can give people an image of an ssd to spin around and zoom in and out while they wait.

  • Xbox loading has gotten slower and slower in all aspects since launch..
I wish people would stop suggesting SSD's.
We shouldn't need to buy additional hardware to make a game work properly surely?

  • @needsmokes you shouldn't have to, I agree but that is the only fix....it's either that or just live with ridiculous load times. Rare obviously can't fix it on their end. Surely they would have by now if they could.

I personally bit the bullet and bought one. I figured I'll have a nice external ssd to go with the new Xbox scarlet next year. Cost me about $80 for a 500GB Samsung t5 external ssd. Made a huge difference....

I know u think your being clever but how many games have to advertise 3rd party hardware for their game to perform equally! Any company that did that would be ashamed and the fact XBOX users have to buy a ssd card in my opinion shows that this game is made for pc and Xbox was just how they could make it profitable but having a paying platform instead of pc who just find ways round to download for free.

It's like playing a different game.

Some one is bound to chime in and say SSD changes nothing; these people just failed to load Sea of Thieves to the SSD..

  • @bkj-seven

I don't see the point in buying one now. The next gen console will be great and I'm saving my pennies for that when it drops.
Rare need to get things sorted their end before players get to fed up with it.

  • Next gen is already out of date and it hasn't even launched yet. Lol.
