I often play solo, so I do not usually play any of the Reaper Mark Voyages as it can be hard to defend as a single player. But in a recent solo attempt at the Eastward Gunpowder Stash Run I learned from the support people some aspects of those voyages that I was unaware of and thought it useful to share.
First, I opened the support ticket because I completed the voyage, but I got a commendation for it, but it did not count towards the 3 you needed to have in order to get the Reaper Sails. I did not understand why.
They told me that you have to raise the Reaper Mark Sail BEFORE you start the voyage. Now I had done one Reaper Mark voyage in the past and I did it the same way I did this one which was to raise the Reaper Mark immediately after I chose the voyage. And I got the credit, at least I thought I did, for that voyage. But support said you MUST raise it BEFORE you select the voyage. I really think they should have a popup reminder before it starts the voyage to ask tell you to raise the Reaper Mark flag first, and in case you do not want to and just want to run the voyage without it, then you can simply accept the reminder by start the voyage anyway.
Second, if you are sunk during the Reaper Mark Voyage you cannot get credit for the voyage. I did not get sunk the first time I did a Reaper Voyage, but someone did sink me this time around, but I completed the whole voyage regardless and turned in everything I had received. I somewhat get the "risk' involved, so I understand that is the chance you take with those voyages, but that was disappointing. I did get credit for completing the voyage, but it simply did not count towards credit against the 3 East Run Voyages you needed to complete in order to get the Reaper Sails.
I think there should be some spot, maybe part of a Reaper Voyage itself, where it lists the details of what must occur to get credit. It would help people decide more clearly if they want to reconsider doing the voyage.
That's all.
Happy Sailing!
