I am kind of new to posting on forums but I would like to give it ago about something recently concerning me and I'm sure lots of other players. It seems my pc counterparts have been buying subscriptions to cheats I would like to know if there's anything Rare could do to shut these sites down as I hate to see this be a thing, and if anyone has any valuable information on it to come forward. I'd like to see a halt to cheating in Sea of Thieves. We may not be able to stop cheaters yet but we could stop the sites using 'Subscription Hacks' and in turn stop the hackers that use that specific site. Just an idea to try and clean up the game I love this game and have been hearing more about these hacks lately so the problem is not getting better.

Rare's doing their best to ban all cheaters. There's not much else that can be done except for autodetecting cheats.Stopping the sites would require legal action that honestly would cost Rare too much money because when 1 site goes down another pops up, in same cases its the same exact site just a different domain in a different country where Rare would have harder times shutting down the site.
Know that this game is heavily monitored and they really do take hacking seriously. If you suspect someone of hacking then report them. Bit of a warning however, don't go all haywire with the reporting, if you report way too often then you'll be ignored. I've reported 3 to 4 players since last year. Thats how many times I've actually ran into someone hacking. 3 or 4 times in a year.
So what can you do to help your chances for the report to go through? Proof.
Have your recorder set up so that the previously 5 mins or 10 mins is recorded in the background. That way you can just hit the "record that" Button and it'll save the last 5 or 10mins.
Know that this game has some crazy hit registration. Learn how the game places players in servers. You'll be surprised how often I've run into players in the game complain about hackers teleporting, god mode, and the like, when its really just lag because their friend created the game and their friend is on the opposite side of the world.
Is there hacking? Yes.
Will you run into it as often as you think you will. No.
Should you worry about it? Not really. Like I said I've run into it 3 or 4 times in the past year.

@xdestin When you say your PC counterparts do you mean friends you play with or people you come across in the game ? How do you know they are using these sites ? do they tell you ?

I'd imagine. We don't have god mode enabled. But I'm just basing my comment what the majority wants.

Completely serious.The majority have complained so much that Rare is actually going to separate consoles from PC players.
Having technical issues though. But it's really happening per Joe Neate.
I understood it was more of an opt-out rather than a separation. At least I hope so. I don't want to limit who I can run into.

I belive they said it was opt-out system. But if you group up with your PC friends you get to play against PC crews.

I thought was joe said is they will try and put xbox players with xbox players if you choose the opt out. But if they cant find a match quick enough then you will be playing with pc still.
Dont recall hearing him say pc is getting their own deal.

Been gaining a bit a loot each night and logging. Playing on the Overwatch PTR for the role queues. 😄

Ya same. My captain works opposite schedule as me so i have been goin solo too. Finally put the ol PVE boots on and im only 3 and a half lvls from legend.I miss being the terror of the seas

Will be a preference setting, the system will try to match the right pools of players together but server population will be prioritised. People who opt-out may still be matched with people who didn't if not enough players from their pool are available, and will receive a notification in the latter case.

Lol na i think in the mega thread someone posted a response from mike or one of the devs. They said xbox with controller only.But who knows. Things change.
That's the thing. They can't see if its a mouse and keyboard adapter or a regular controller. I have my Xbox and would just need to reup on Live and I can go test when it comes to console. I've always preferred PC for the raw amount of things I can do and get in the end.
Discrimination is against the forum rules.
You know... ...Almost every game I have ever cheated/modded/etc with has been on console.
I know it's a cool new fad to fail at a game and/or gaming session and call everyone cheaters (with no proof), (unless you're a "streamer", then you call everyone that beats you a "stream sniper"), but singling out certain groups is just rude.
Let me ask you a question. Do you go to other forums, for other games, for all other consoles/devices and try to stop "cheating"? ...or websites that are *doing nothing illegal (99% of the time)?

Speaking of assumptions, I bet you've never even encountered a SoT cheater. It's possible you have, but I am in a "SoT clan". Between all the members and myself, we've yet to find anyone clearly cheating. We've players from Alpha, Beta and Launch, as well.
Between it being rare and Rare working on constant updates and ways to keep cheating out of the game, it's not a big deal. At all.
